Your part right Bruce, only Glóredhel was a she! Glóredhel was the only woman in the group.
On Glador - is this what you meant? Or did you mean Galdor? If so, he could be the odd man out, for he is the only man, the other are elves.

Hmmm You're only part right Joy - Both reasons for Gloredhel being odd out qualify.
On Galdor - he couldn't qualify being odd out because he was a MAN... as Galdor also was the name of the ELF who was send as a messenger from Cridan and who was present at the Counsil of Elrond... Gundor however was not an elf, being the youngest son of Hador - so he could be the odd man out if you consider Galdor to be 'Galdor, messenger of Cirdan' !

lol you are all right but nobody said why I choose these 4 names:
Gundor Glador Gloredhel Gelmir Gundor, Galdor(sorry I meant Galdor!) and Gloredhel are brothers and sister, Gelmir isn't related to them by any family link. [ March 07, 2002: Message edited by: Banazīr ]

OK - This one is a little different ...
The Road to Isengard The Passing of the Grey Company The Pyre of Denethor Many Partings These are of course Chapter Titles - but the titles have no signifigance - HINT: It is what happens in the three of the chapters that doesn't happen in the 4th... [ March 15, 2002: Message edited by: Telchar ]

The Pyre of Denethor
- only chapter without poetry ? - the only chapter that only discribes one day (no-one sleeps) Passing of the grey company - only chappter without Gandalf I am just guessing, because no one answered..Can you give more hints? I have somethings in mind but I have to read the chapters again..would be a good idea... Has it something to do with death? Or with smoking??

I dunno, but here is some reasons that Eowyn is odd out: A: a Woman - B: not part of the fellowship - C: Never sailed West
Then again, Frodo could be the one for not wearing any shoes ;-)

Nope...
one hint: to one of the three it didn“t happen in LotR and it“s just mentioned once.

hmmmm... I think it`s time for another hint..(I have to admit, this question is a bit ..-strange )
Okay, as said befor to 3 of them something happened, that didn“t happen to the odd man. And to one of the tree it didn“t happen in LotR. It happaned in another book (of course) and it isn“t discribed, you just get to know about it by a fact that is told in one sentence.

Another Hint:
The thing that happens in LotR to the two has something to do with the Nazgul. And to the thrid person it happened to it happened in a battle and not in LotR (some years earlier).

If that's right, I'll guess Legolas as the Odd Man Out. [ March 22, 2002: Message edited by: Turambar ]

Yes Turambar, Legolas is odd out!
You are very, very close about the reason why he“s odd out... Think about the kind of injury Eowyn and Frodo had after they were attacked by the nazgul... and think about Gandalf and what happened to him in the hobbit It“s about what part of the body was injured... Ok, since it been a few days, I think I“ll tell you the answer...
As I“ve said befor Legolas is odd out. Because he never had an injury at the arm/shoulder. Or just because Legolas was never injured in a battle. Frodo had after he was stabbed by the Nazgul at the Weathertop. Eowyn had too and in the Hobbit it says about Gandalf: Quote:
Maybe someone else posts a new question. Maybe Telchar or Turambar continue because they were close with some guesses. [ March 31, 2002: Message edited by: Narya ]

Is it that Eomer didn't meet a ring bearer (Frodo or Sam) until after the war?

Didn't Finarfin stay in Aman after the exile of the Noldor (please, correct me if wrong)? If so, he would be the only one to not live in Middle Earth.
