That sounds suspiciously like something Sean Astin would say.... Although I doubt that we'd be continuing our recent Astin-quote mania, but you never know.....

Sorry, not Sir Ian McKellen, nor Viggo, nor Sean...and by the way, Luthien...I love tea! (Told you I said it!)
Cheers! Lyta

Christopher Lee?
By the way, not all of us Brits are die-hard tea drinkers. I loathe the stuff myself.

Sorry, not Chris Lee either! Anyone want a hint?
Saucepan Man, I understand about the odd man out on the drink preferences. I'm one of the few people I know who HATE most commercial soft drinks, especially Coca-Cola. Jasmine or Green Tea is my favorite, though. Oddly enough, a cup of hot green tea is most refreshing after 8 hours of working out in summer heat. This bit of tea trivia brought to you by Lyta Underhill, who heartily recommends 4 o'clock teatime, just because that's the time that energy wanes and my endless hobbit appetite reasserts itself... This wasn't supposed to be a treatise on tea, now was it? Anyway, not Chris Lee, not Viggo, not Sir Ian McKellen, nor Sean Astin. Finally, the hint that will narrow it down: it is one of the Fellowship. Cheers! Lyta

John Rhys-Davis, then?
Actually, I love Coca-Cola, but my dentist has forbidden me to drink it. And red wine too. Then again, I'm ignoring that second bit.

Saucepan Man has it! It was John Rhys-Davies in an interview for hollywoodjesus.com . The entire thing can be found here: John Rhys-Davies Interview
Cheers! Lyta P.S. If I went to a dentist, I'm sure he or she would forbid all the coffee and tea I drink and all the sugar I put in them...so I don't go! And I prefer hard cider in the line of harder beverages...red wine is too much for me, usually! (Funny how this is turning into the "what'll you have?" thread as well as the Actor's Quotes Quiz thread!

And I must admit, I love tea, too. Green tea with no sugar. I'm kind of weird that way, I get it from my mom. But any kind of tea's cool, as long as it's not pear vanilla or something unearthly weird like that. But my favorite drink would have to be water. Anyway, I'm looking forward to the next quote, Saucepan Man.

Ah, tea - as in the meal. Well, that's different. I'm a great fan, only I have it with coffee. If you're ever in the West Country of England (Devon/Cornwall), I would heartily recommend trying a cream tea.

Gosh, that was quick. I thought that it might be a difficult one, but I suppose I should have known better than to pick an interview that was published on ToRN.

Well, the only two I can think that someone would join into the same category would be Chris Lee and Ian McKellen, but as for who said it...I'm lost. Possibly Dom? He says "brilliant" a lot.

I'm thinking a "serious actor" (if you get what I mean...) Ian McKellen?

Sorry, Eruwen, Samwise, the speaker is not Dom, nor is it Sean. The two spoken about are not Ian McKellen and Christopher Lee, nor are they Dom and Billy. EDIT: zb swooped in and got it right, after I had already posted! The speaker is indeed Sir Ian McKellen! (Now, who is he talking about?) Anyway, the turn goes to zb, no matter what now! But those extra points are waiting!
Cheers, Lyta P.S. I love the idea of the "standard answer", Samwise! That's one reason I decided NOT to use a Sean quote I came upon earlier... I knew you guessed Sean as a matter of course! I couldn't make it TOO easy! <font size=1 color=339966>[ 8:21 PM January 27, 2004: Message edited by: Lyta_Underhill ]

We really have developed standard answers here.... Eruwen guesses Dom, Samwise guesses Sean A., or else I jump in and guess him before she gets here. Then I take one of the other hobbits, and everyone else proceeds to guess the older actors who played men, rather than hobbits. Identifiable guessing trends. Weird. Okay, here's one:
Quote:
*** Okay, about the 'serious' thing: Serious is the wrong word entirely. Forget that. It was what I wrote pre-9am. What I meant was that the bit about 'clowns' made me think of the role of the clown/fool in Shakespeare. And that the overall tone was that of an older person. *** btw: a quick google search reveals who 'they' are, but I feel as if I shouldn't give it away since it's not a 'guess' per se. [blatant giveaway: If you want to know the answer, google the first sentence of the quote (in quote marks).]

Lyta, I believe Ian was talking about some guys from the crew, possibly PJ and Fran? yes, I'm aiming for those extra points, and this quote sounds very familiar!

Sorry, Evisse, no points yet! zb, your quote does sound like Sean Astin, actually, but I didn't do a search and its already been guessed, so never mind! Anyway, a hint for the two in question: they're both seated in high places in their respective realms in Middle Earth...(hope that's not too obvious a hint!)
Cheers, Lyta P.S. Seconds on the birthday wishes for Elijah!

As to the quote, I don't know, Orlando Bloom?
And who would I be not to continue the trend and wish Elijah a happy birthday? Wouldn't it be so flattering to be able ot go online on your birthday and see it announced on Torn and everyone wishing you a happy one? I'm rather jealous. I take my leave. (Hey, maybe we could start a new trend! I'll start saying htat all the tme and see. My other "catch-phrases" are getting old.)
