Well, I guess in such a long quote it's easier to mix up things!
"Welcome, kinsman, for so I hold you. Here you shall dwell at your pleasure, save only that you must here abide and depart not from my kingdom; for it is my law that none who finds the way hither shall depart." Turgon, quite friendly, to Eol

That is, of course, correct, Guinevere. I'm really sorry about all the mistakes. It's not unusual for me to add an extra dash in a word or put a letter in the wrong spot every once in a while, but this time in addition to about 5 of those minor errors I seem to have duplicated one word nd swallowed two. I just don't get how I could have gotten it that way. How unfocused I must have been when I filled in the letters....

Never mind!
"-----/ --/ ---/ ----/ -----/ ----/ ---/ ------/ ------/, ---/ ---/ -------/ ---/ ----/ ---/ ----/ -----/ --/ -----'-/ ---/ ----/ -----/ ----/ ---/ ---(-)----." (-) is a hyphen

I hope I didn't intrude your contest here
All right, I have to come up with new one, right? Let's see... how about this... Something not too long! (If that makes it less or more difficult is another question.) "----/---!/----/---/--/--/---/-----,/---/--/---/----/----/-------!"

Well done! I was wondering whether people stopped guessing just when it was starting to get clear Nice! So it's your turn to come up with a new quote, Guinevere

Thank you, Legate! (I'm not at the computer everyday.: and I kept looking for "what fun!" in the wrong book, before I found it )
E's, by request of MCRmyGirl4eva "---/--e/ ---/ ---------/ -----/ --e/ ---/ ---/ --/ ----/. -----/, -/ ----e-/ --/ -e/ -----/ e-e-/ -e/ ---/ ----/ -----/ --/ ---e-/. -e'-e --/ --e/, --/ ----e-/, ---/ -/ -e--/: ---/ ----/ -----/, ---/ ----/, ----/ --/ --e/ ---e---e/ --/ -e--/ ---/ --/ -/ --e--/ ---/ ----/ ----/ -e-/ ---/ -----/ -e--e--/, -e---/ ---/ -e---/ ---e------/." (Phew, that's a long quote! First I wanted to limit it to the first sentence, but it is one that I love. My bad, I will need more concentration to fit in all the requested letters! And the longer the quote, the sooner there will be a part that someone recognizes...)

And I was also looking in The Hobbit for a long time. "What fun! What fun to be...again!" No wonder it didn't make any sense in that context. Good job, Guinevere!

Hmm, honestly. I already had one idea of where it might be from, and that proved wrong...
I am able to decipher pretty large chunks of the text, but they are pretty vague. The "central" part is probably something else. I really really wonder where this is from. Could we have a N, please?

Ha haa, nice one, Zil! And good to see somebody else to scrub off the rust and join
I thought it might be that, to be honest, but I didn't even look it up, because I dismissed it with "that one is about books, there certainly isn't anything about letters!" Wrong, of course. Ah Sam! I really like that detail, though, now that it's been brought to my attention. It is sort of completely random, unnecessary elaboration - but I like it!

Well done, Inziladun! Please proceed.
(one of the reasons I love this game is that I can browse in the books and pick quotes that I am particularly fond of )
