At school, we had a project in which we had to design a video game.
For mine, my first thought was of a LOTR parody that went something like this: The LOTR Dance-Off Scenario: You have been trapped by the evil side and they have decided to allow one of you to escape. This is decided by a dance-off for their amusement. Contestants: G-Wizz (the dance-floor wizard) Leggy-lass (the beautiful female) Argon (the noble air) And last but not least, Boromir the Disco King (It was by this time that I realised that I would be posting on this thread) Judges: Sour-One Sourer-Man Mr G'lum And then I realised that no-one in my school would get all of the references (A depressing thought really), so I changes my idea to something more serious.

When you see this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fea%27s_Muntjac while on a quest for a Barrow Downer and think that it is quite natural for that person to get species named for her...

After realising how much one has to do for work RL... and how many hours it would be advisable to sleep RL... one gets checking if anyone has posted to the RPG you're trying to boost forwards - or the WW-game you're into - and bye-bye the hours from sleep... (about five of them left right now for tomorrow... )

When you're typing a report at work regarding jewelry, and catch yourself automatically capitalising the word 'ring'.

I was reading a post on an LJ community and someone mentioned a character's significance to Vita Sackville-West. I automatically inputted "Baggins".
Also, I saw my family a couple weeks ago. Fun was had by all; it was my cousin's wedding. My little cousin was there and proceeded to follow me around. A lot. After a while I kept trying to get her interested in other stuff. Her name's Nia. I kept nearly calling her Nienna, and then wanting to beg the latter's forgiveness for comparing her to the former.

Oh my goodness, do something for a change, man! That's crazy. Although, on second thought, it's only 40 minutes until the deadline... But I remember being like that in my third or fourth game, it was crazy.

I was signing Christmas cards today. I signed Sally instead of my real name. (The card was to a Downer, but it's a Downer I know rather well so it makes me giggle.) I'm going to go check the rest of them to make sure I didn't do the same thing on any of the cards for my "real" friends.
Also, someone IM'd me or something and said they had PMS. I totally thought she meant PMs at first, and was going to congratulate her.

The news was on randomly, and I saw the scroll on the bottom say:
Italian PM vows to defeat Mafia! And it took me a long time to figure out that they meant Prime Minister, not private message.

Which is even better, as Werewolf originates from a game called Mafia (or the other way around, depending on who you ask). ^_^

Well, 2010 can wait, the Downs cannot. Besides, why not be on the Downs whilst everyone else is partying. It is much quieter.

My little sister was about to eat some blueberry cobbler yogurt, but when she opened it, a tiny glob flew out and landed on her shirt. She said something to the effect of "Evil cobbler!" and I instantly thought, "No, there's no cobbler in this game."

When your to do list includes, "Send Mac in for repairs" because your macbook's disc drive is busted, but every time you see it, you get a little concerned that Macalaure's in trouble.

You know, Eönwë you might be addicted to the Downs when you start telling people that their symptoms of addiction are perfectly normal, and you don't have to worry about it.

Or maybe you are truly addicted when you justify your addictions as being normal?

That might be it too. Does that mean that when you justify your addiction to the Downs, then you reach the next stage of addiction?

When you read this and honestly don't even think of the real meaning until after thinking about it - hard - for a long time. (I use Windows, not Mac.)

When you're driving along and have to do a double take because you thought you saw the screen name of a fellow Downer on a sign....It happened to me twice today....

Oddly enough I have seen the name of a Downer on a street sign. There is a Lindale Road about a twenty-five minute drive from my house.

There's an Esty Street in Ithaca, NY. It's not nearly as nice and welcoming as the real Esty, though.
