For amusement of Sally:
With two hypothetical Ducks left:
Bright side: hunter. Say toDay we kill Innocent!Dury. ToNight, Duck kills Assassin. Assassin hopefully kills Duck. Leaves two: Duck and Hunter. Both die. Moddess wins. Worse endings exist. Of course, relies on actually having two Ducks, and Lari not lying about being Hunter, and Assassin having ability to kill again. 'If' is scary word.

Post while I'm gone, kthnxbye.

Meh, I've been mean enough....
Day Six
The group was getting desperate now, after convincing themselves that someone was sitting in the corner mass producing ducks. In their panic they cornered Durie, carrying large sticks. “You don't want to do this,” Durie warned, backing away slowly. “Lari, come on. Who's side are you on?” Lari considered this for a moment then turned her stick on Noggie, but Durie was still outnumbered. As they all (even Lari had no choice but to go with the group, for fear of facing their wrath later) drove their poles into Durie's body she shrieked. “Don't poke me!” she shouted. Sally's hand clapped over Phantom's mouth from their observation post around the corner. “Don't even think about it.” Phantom was about to reply when the scene before them caught their attention. Durie seemed to explode as one, then another, then two, then three, five, and even eight small ducklings erupted from her body. Fea and Lari saw the creatures aiming their beaks at them and screamed a chorus of, “Mother-” “Duck!” Nog interrupted, seeing several of the duck spawn dive at him, and he just managed to pull Nilp's charred corpse over him in time. “Yeah, exactly what we were going to say,” the two girls muttered. “Mother Duck, that's her.” Mith looked at them strangely. “It's Mother Goose, you idiots,” she muttered, before hitting the ground again to avoid the peckish villains. The scene continued unabated for several minutes until suddenly the CGI artist in charge of animating the foul fouls suffered a fatal heart attack and died. “It's about time someone stopped this Bolshevik Revolution,” Phantom commented as the mini-Duries disappeared from view, and Sally agreed with a nod and a giggle. Durie's body lay on the ground, surrounded by cartoon and live action feathers. She was dead, as Sally quickly confirmed. “As moddess here I must aver I've thoroughly examined her And Durie's not just merely dead She's plucked and most sincerely dead” The four living escapees cheered, dancing around in celebration of their victory. Phantom and Sally watched them, snickering to themselves as Mnemo snuck into their midst, drooling. The Living Mith Noggie Lari Fea The Dead Everyone who's already dead Durie (were-duck, drawn badly on Day Six) GAME OVER VILLAGE WINS WERE-DUCKS LOSE LOVERS LOSE MODDESS GIGGLES PHANTOM SNICKERS DUCKESS QUACKS A note: There never was a reproducing duck, I just wrote it that way because the theory was too good to not mention.

These are the PMs everyone received at the beginning of the game. Enjoy the madness.
The Baddies Nienna Congrats, dear, you are a wolf! You and your packmates, Durelin, Nerwen, Kath, Thinlomien, and Wilwarin538 are setting out to exterminate the village. You may PM during Night phases and discuss strategies and other sundry. Your personal challenge (which you may NOT share with your pack) is this. You are Chekhov, king (or in this case queen) of the non-sequiturs. I will periodically send you funny quotes, movie titles, books names, plays, poems, etc. and you must work them in. These will be fairly scarce, so you must rely on your own genius brain to come up with all kinds of references that mean something but that seem to have nothing to do with the game. (For reasons I cannot explain, there may be a reward at some point for reaching a certain quota of Shakespeare references. For the record, my favorite Shakespeare plays are Hamlet and A Midsummer Night's Dream. Do with that information what you like.) If I decide you're not making enough references (or if I just don't get them) I'll PM you with some suggestions and request that your mad skills be made use of more often. If for some reason you stop placing references/quotes in your posts altogether you may be modfired, although I doubt that will be a problem. When in doubt, remember this. Lommie's never been to Japan, but she hears the flights there are usually quite eventful. That is all. Good day. Nerwen You're a wolf! Yay! You and Durie and Kath and Lommie and Wilwa and Nienna are going to have such a great time killing off the village! Aren't you excited? Okay, that was getting a bit too perky even for my taste. You, on the other hand, are a Pollyanna. Well, not necessarily, but you are for the duration of the game. That means that you must always be happy, perky, and occasionally blissfully ignorant of the village's problems. The happier you are, the happier I am, and the better the chance of you and your pack getting a reward for your excellent performance. When I read your posts I want to be reminded of a cheerleader who's overdosed on sugar and whose team just won the big game. (Ditziness optional. I'm a sadist, but I'm not going to strip you of your IQ. Feel free to be smart and perky, as long as you're annoyingly perky.) All in all, a spoonful of sugar makes the village go down, and I've just handed you the keys to the candy jar. Have at it, you cheery thing you! Kath Hey, you're a wolf! Congrats, hun! Your pack consists of Durie, Nerwen, Nienna, Wilwa, and Lommie. You, however, are special. Consider yourself the duck's jester, the comic relief, the Kath of kicks and giggles, etc. If Mnemo PMs you and asks you to do something (game-related of course) you must do it, no matter how silly it seems. Also, I will probably send you some stuff over the first few Days since we're on spring break, so for now you're really my slave instead of the duck's. The duck can (but only with my approval) modfire you at any point if she decides she doesn't like something you post, so be careful and keep in mind the will of the watery one. Other than meeting the duck's demands (or mine as the case may be) you are just a regular wolf, so enjoy it! Durie You're a wolf! You and your mates (Wilwa, Kath, Nerwen, Nienna, and Lommie) are of course trying to kill off the rest of the village. In your case there is one situation, and one situation only, in which you will take someone with you upon your death. Obviously I can't tell you what it is, but it's something to keep in mind for the future. This and the rest of the information in this message is classified and not to be shared with your fellows. A personal note: you will be loud. And I don't mean you post in caps, I mean you are a large mouth bass, a gobby child, a....well, generally a loudmouth. Build your post count (extra points for beating Rikae and/or Fea ) while you can and post as much as possible. Obviously I'm not going to modfire you if you're busy and can't be loud as all heck, but your task is to chatter as much as possible. Long analyses, tons of clever banter, vote counts, color coded suspicion charts, whatever you like. Ladies, start your tongues! Willa Congrats, you are a wolf! Your mates are Durie, Nerwen, Kath, Nienna, and Lommie. Good luck killing off the village! As far as your personal challenge, you need to be as nonchalant and seemingly unbiased as possible. Basically, you're a people pleaser. As far as anyone else in the game knows you don't care who wins, as long as everyone has a good time and plays nice. This is pretty self-explanatory, so I'll just let you have at it. (Oh, and no telling your mates about this bit. Just saying.) Lommie You are a wolf, along with Kath, Nerwen, Nienna, Wilwa, and Durie You, however, are not like your packmates. You don't like being a wolf much, you poor thing. You won't betray your pack, and still wish for them to win, but would be happier if they won in your absence. So you'll do whatever it takes to satisfy your Nilp-ish desires and get yourself killed. You are NOT allowed to reveal yourself as a wolf (although fake reveal ploys are welcome if amusing enough) but may do anything else pretty much to get yourself lynched. In the event of your death (if you fail to get lynched before you must exit the game) you will be killed the following Night and allowed to pick one person to carry on your legacy. After all, misery loves company. You may select anyone in the game, but if you choose incorrectly there may be consequences. If you pick a plain ordo they will happily serve in your place and attempt to bring a victory to the wolves, but if you pick a gifted you will fail to scry a new wolf completely. The cobbler counts as an ordo in this scenario, for reference. Rikae You are the Evil Dream Catcher. This means that, each Night, you select a player. If the seer selects the same player you receive the seer's dream and can (if you choose, for whatever reason) allow the dream to pass to them. You also act as a cobbler, of course, and if you can at any point PM me with the names of all the wolves (Night phase only though, please!) the wolves are PM'd your identity so you are all aware of each other, though you are not permitted to PM. (Sorry about that, them's the breaks. At least that way they won't accidentally kill you. Hehe.) You are not allowed to pick yourself, by the way, and if the seer dreams you you appear as your aligned role (cobbler, not dream catcher) in their dream. The Gifteds Gwath You are the metacrisised seer. Your lover (or rather companion, given the nature of your role title), Brinn, is the ranger. You may PM at any time during the game, and the usual lover rules regarding joined fates do not apply. If one of you is killed at Night the other is simply left alone. However, if one of you is lynched both of you perish. The challenge is this. You must take specific aspects of your partner's playing style (i.e. posting volume, analysis habits or lack thereof, etc.) and incorporate them into your own behavior. The more you remind me of your partner, the better, as there may be rewards for performance. In regards to dreams, there are certain circumstances that may prevent your dreams from being fulfilled. If so, you will receive a PM from the moddess stating that your dream was unsuccessful. This is not due to the role of the player you've dreamt, so the fact that a dream is blocked does not imply the guilt or innocence of your dream target. Brinn You are the metacrisised ranger. Your lover (or rather companion, given the nature of your role title), Gwath, is the seer. In regards to your saves, you may protect yourself and your partner a total of three times. How you choose to divide this power is up to you. Otherwise you may protect players any number of times, as long as they are not consecutive saves. Izzy You are the Good Dream Catcher. This means that, each Night, you select a player. If the seer selects the same player you receive the seer's dream as well as the seer. You are not allowed to pick yourself, by the way, thought I don't know why you'd want to. Anyway, if the seer dreams you you receive all of their past dreams as well as every dream from that point on. You will show up as innocent and I will hint that you can like read their brain or something. Your specific personal challenge is to find....someone. That someone is the seer. If on any Night you PM me the name of the seer (you get three chances to do this and receive the subsequent reward) you are able to PM the seer once they dream of you, as well as knowing their dreams. After your third try, of course, you still get their information but not the PM rights, so use your three wishes, erm, guesses wisely. Enjoy! Fea You, dear one, are the village's own personal guard dog, also known as the tamed werebear. Each Night you may send me a pick, and if that person is evil they die. (As a side note, this does not include the cobbler. Sorry about that.) However, there is one wolf who is tied to you in a way, and if you attack them you will die along with them. (Yeah, I pretty much added this so you couldn't kill off all the wolves single-handed. I'm not going to lie.) For you, the trick is to draw as little attention to yourself as possible. You, sweetie, are a wallflower. You are inconspicuous, unnoticeable, and altogether quiet. No crazy antics, no village prostitution, and no codes with people. You are generic, plain, and well-behaved. Hence tamed. Any really off the wall stuff and I'll modfire your pretty little hide, kthnxbye. Lari You are a Hunter~! In the event of your death you are allowed to take a player down with you, provided that they are evil. (In this game, you are NOT allowed to take the cobbler. Just letting you know.) You may change your pick either Day or Night, but when you change your pick it stays that way for the next Phase and kicks in at the end of the current Phase. (For instance, if it is Day 2 and you change your pick to Sally, it doesn't take effect until that Night and isn't able to be changed until the Dawn of Day 3. If that doesn't make a whole lot of sense feel free to PM me back and I can clarify.) Your crack challenge is to be a reverse psychologist. If you suspect someone, you must defend them, and if you think someone is innocent you must accuse them. (Mind, this doesn't affect your voting necessarily, only how you speak of people. For reference see my performance in the last game where I posted most of my suspicion lists backwards.) In doing this you will of course confuse a few people but, well, that's the point. Have at it! Noggie You are Denethor. While an ordo at heart, you are gifted with a Palantir which tells you, from time to time, the role of a player in the game. However, the information is skewed by Saruman and may be faulty. Your task is to help the good villagers to victory and do the best you can with the information you will receive. (To explain in other terms, you are a seer with tainted information. Your 'dreams' will come periodically and at my discretion, although you may request a player from time to time and I will take that into account.) On another note, congratulations on your two children, Shasta (Faramir) and Kath (Boromir). Kath is, of course, your favorite, and you will protect her as much as possible, at least in the realm of how you deal with her. (Basically be nice to Kath and treat Shasta like crap. You don't have to keep Kath alive, nor must you kill Shasta, but in all your dealings with them, no matter what their role turns out to be, they are Faramir and Boromir and you must deal with them accordingly.) Enjoy, and happy parenting! Mith You love the Phantom. Erm, I mean you ARE the Phantom. (Freudian slip. Heh.) You know everything and yet nothing, though you certainly think you do, and are more than happy to let everyone know it. You will be PM'd all the roles shortly, but the list will contain no names. Your task is to, like everyone else, figure out everyone's roles. Unlike everyone else, however, you are a one time werebear who, if you can at any point in the game PM me with a completely correct role list, may kill any one person in the game. You have unlimited chances to do so, and I will give you a grade (e.g. you got x/y correct) to help you in your quest. You get no dreams, no hints from me other than the ranking mentioned, and may not post your list at any time on the game thread, lest you receive modfire. Of course since ickle Phantom isn't in the game you will be sad, making all your posts depressing to read and full of whining about this, that, and the other. A simple challenge and yet one I know you'll have a lot of trouble with. Good luck! The Others (lovers, ordos, etc.) Shasta You are Hamlet. Your lover Ophelia (Mira) is unaware of your identity and thus the two of you are not allowed to PM. Your task is to lead her to you, and hers is to guess your identity. She has a set number of chances to do so, and if she fails she is left to her own devices, which will include much insanity and nonsense and will probably end in her death. (In this instance and in this instance only are you not joined in fate, for if she does not guess your role you are for all narration purposes no longer joined. In all other ways your fates are joined, be it by lynch or Night kill.) Once she has correctly guessed your identity (if she manages it) you may PM at any time during the game and you are a normal, unaligned lover pairing, whose goal is simply to survive until the end of the game. Mira You are Ophelia. Your lover Hamlet's identity is not known to you. Hamlet will be leaving you clues as to his identity throughout the thread, and your task is to find him. (Yes, I know, it's not quite canon, but it's as close as I could make it under the circumstances.) The trick is that you only have so many guesses in which to learn which player is your sweetheart. You may make these guesses as frequently as you like, though you must of course wait for confirmation before submitting another guess. If you fail to correctly guess him within 4 tries, however, your bond is broken. From that point on, your posts will completely change in content and clarity, rendering you insane. You then have one FINAL chance to guess his identity, which you may use at any time, Day or Night, provided that you've been 'insane' for at least 48 hours. If you fail on that attempt you will die as soon as I receive your PM. If you succeed, however, you will be allowed to PM your darling and you become a normal lover pair, bent on your survival until the end of the game. (This also means that if you survive to the end and the wolves win you are still victorious, just for reference.) Legate Congratulations, you are innocent! Your votes, however, may have a different impact than you expect, depending on how well you follow your instincts. Vague? Good. Remember that nothing in this game is as it seems and that you are no exception. The part that'll be hard for you though? No long posts. No analyses, no overthinking (which isn't to say you overthink, just that you think things through thoroughly) or complicated theories. You're going to play (or at least appear to play) as if you're flying by the seat of your pants. If possible, forget the deadline and forget to vote once or twice (if this results in what should be a modfire you will be excused of course), even forget to bold you votes, anything that is rather newb-ish or....well, not like you. Happy slacking! Mac You are the conspiracy theorist. Everyone is out to get you, and it's all the moddess's fault. (Yes, that means you can insult me, and I expect you to do so.) Any time someone mentions a possible theory, you jump on it like a fat kid on a big chocolate cake. The crazier it is and the more plausible you make it sound, the better. After all, you're nothing if not clever and paranoid for the duration of the game, and anything is possible when a sadist is the mod. In a way though, you're right. The wolves are out to kill you, and the village....well, they're all gifteds in one way or another. (And no, you can't tell anyone that of course.) They don't need you around, or so they think. It's up to you to prove that you're cleverer than all of them, even with all their silly powers. Oh, but it's not over! You are the cobbler's crush, a lover role with a one way tie involved. If you are lynched, he/she dies too, but if he/she dies you get to survive. Mazel tov! Nilp You are the Heckler and the Free-loader. Your task is to insult everyone's playing styles and just generally be a bit of a jerkface. Not be legitimitely rude of course, but as rude as possible without people wanting to actually kill you. Which reminds me. They can't. Kill you, that is. I'm just sayin'. You win no matter what side wins, but you must vote for whoever you find least amusing during the Day. Yes, you will vote, and you will vote every Day, and you may not vote for yourself. And....your vote doesn't count. But no one else will know that. Bwahahahaha!

k, awesome, so:
Ok, so Night 1 I was concentrating on this post by Lari: Quote:
Then after Shastas death I concentrated on his death posts: Quote:
And of course his one going on about the number 6, because there were 6 wolves, hahaha, I'm surprised no one caught that one...or was it all actually coincidence and I'm just crazy??? Sally??Shasta??? And my little "assignment", was to be as unbiased as possible, making it look like I didn't actually care which side won as long as we all had fun....I was quite terrible at it, so when I get a PM from Mnemo saying "You're dead. Stop posting. Explain in a sec." I was so sure I was being mod-fired for not doing well with my task, haha. Turned out I was just targeted by someone for something or other...which I'd like to have explained by the way, haha. Condisering there wasn't an overly large amount of suspicion on me I'm not exactly sure why I was targeted twice like that. But it was quite fun indeed. I tried to follow along as much as possible but I was really quite lost, not sure exactly what was going on the last couple of days. But it was highly enjoyable! Wonderful job Sally and Mnemo! And great effort my ducky friends!!! All hail the Phantom....

Good job village though i really wanted us duckies to win... anyway...
I'd just like to mention how we started referring to Lari's list as [I]the list and we were quite sure that she was some omniscient being or something... we even contemplated testing the list...hehe... anyway Good job duckies even though we did lose... I was particularly impressed by Dury and her Alpha duck reproducing theory which many people did latch onto because they were so sure that the ducks were reproducing. A few things about my posts... i left hints all over the place (Bill Shakes for instance) and also in my color analysis most if not all of the baddies were given heavy metals (they cause cancer in california). Rikae in like all her posts during the first few Days mentioned the Cobbler in some way or another so that was why i told her to stop hitting the nail on the head... or something... so that she would get that i was on to her. Yay for my first ww game... though I don't believe i did terribly well... Good Job everyone!

Ah, I figured there were that many seer and assassin types running around. We did well, considering.
Thanks for the fun! |

So we won!!! Yuppiii!
Congrats to all goodies! And especially hats off to Fea! I knew your role from Day2 onwards and managed to keep it safe even if at some moments it felt pretty dangerous. And a cool performance Mith as well! Indeed I'm dying to know how the extra kills went... Yeah, I knew a thing and two about you two from looking at my Palantir; like that Fea was about to kill Brinn on N1 but thought better of it after learning her alignment (and as she proved to be the ranger it was sealed Fea was a goodie) and Mith being the flashing light to stop the ducks on N2 was shown to me by my Palantir as Mithturning to look at me and then vanishing with a flash of light the very same Night she stopped the ducks. So Dury, that was why I believed them more I believed you... not that you didn't make an outstanding case for yourself! *kudos* With this "number of ducks increasing" -stuff you got me wawering a bit regarding Fea, but as the kills seemed to concentrate on the ducks I thought it a more belivable case. The reason I was ready to believe that "ducks increasing" -scenario was the fact I had seen in the Palantir Rikae baking pies in the oven during the Night and not being afraid of the ducks walking by. So a mother Goose she was? Well, she wasn't... but the idea of the increrasing numbers of the ducks stuck to my head and therefore you Dury managed to buzz my head a lot with that idea of yours I thought was reasonable... And sorry Mac, reaally sorry! One or two things might have been better had I not retaliated - but it felt like it being a crucial vote then and Mith & Fea (and Nilp) being ones I would not compromise you had to take the hit from me as I had no better ideas at the time. And basically you were lynched by the baddies... An oh my! What a game! Sally deserves a gazillion reps from this! That was totally insane... and fun! And I must say I have never had such an exciting role before! Looking at the Palantir and seeing things happening without knowing the alignments of the people I saw was just awesome! It really teased my brain to come up with various possible scenarios... and that was soo much fun! I see I got a few of them right... and was soo wrong with others. Just one of the best games I've ever had! Thanks to you all for the experience! EDIT: and my new avvie is just for waiting for Sally's judgement of the outcome...

I think I'm not the only one who needed to add things up and compare what we learned by Nights with what we saw in the thread - and then one had to combine the two: getting it right at some points and getting it wrong at others...

Congratulations to the village and especially to Sally for coming up some of the most awesome stuff ever!
Depending on when you Ducks were thinking of killing me I might have been hunting Durie, who I hunted for like 2ish Days before going back to Fea. Because I always tend to think she's guilty and hunting Fea is never really a bad idea. As for my list that one was of who I thought was innocent. So what I've now learned from this game: those who I think are innocent are guilty.

Your success in being able to vote the innocents against the baddies in quite a many Days in a row do indeed suggest that! Just vice versa.

Well, that was a rather smooth return to lycanthropy, if I do say so myself.
With my academic responsibilities almost over, and my slavery still undetermined, I shall be serious in the next game, bringing all my logical powers to bear. . . . Unless I am the Seer, in which case I'll be lazily working towards a mathematical win. Again.

Yay..!!
Great job everyone and Moddesses. xD Too bad my internet connection was so lousy my last Day. I still don't get why you wasted a kill on me. Not like I had any other information to add to the pile. I'm still quite confused on the despair-ish feelings from the Day Gwath revealed. Ah well.

Why were you not interested in discussing the assassin-role ducks? When Lari made the point on the last Day I was almost sure she was the last duck (besides Dury) because of bringing it up... But it was really interesting no-one brought it up - and sure eased my task of biting my lip and stay quiet about it.
