I will of course be there, date or no. But who to be, who to be? Does it matter if they're dead? What am I saying? We're in the barrowdowns, of course it doesn't!

I just hope the admins and mods will keep an eye on the REG this time around. It managed to wreck some serious havoc last year.

Decisions, decisions. Everyone else seems to be coming as a character..hm..
I could always come as my hobbit alter-ego, Poppy..I kinda miss her now Castle Maladil's over Nakedness isn't allowed? *pouts* And yes, I don't think Lousewart Chastitybelt would approve of the goings on at a BD party...

In response to Findorfin's query, the Downies will be awarded by presenters based upon general instructions from the Admins/Mods, etc. Only admins/mods can authorize awards. No "informal" awards can be given. This is so that no one is insulted or has hard feelings.
BTW, all or nearly all of the Downies will be tongue in cheek. Cheers,

What about my question? Sniff- no partner and everyone's ignoring me. Fine, I'm going to PM Mithadan, even though I'm sure he's insanely busy.

Hey just asking, is their going to be an award for "BDer who keeps messing up treads with off-topic posts"? I can shure give that one a go. Or maybe ehm *couch cough Durelin couch couch* Was that too obvious? Anyway, are the catogories of the awards already out in the public or will they be kept secret untill the end of the party. And how long is that party going to last anyway? Not one day I hope, that will be far to short. I'd say a week till a month. Why spend so short time on such a happy even right? |

The party will not take place at any specific time or age in Middle Earth. It will mix Middle Earth and modern technology. You may come in character, any character, or as yourself. "Dates" are definitely not rquired.

As an example of the style and tone which should be used, as well as the setting for the solemn occaision which is the Barrow-Downs' Third Birthday Party and Downie Awards, please see the post which has been made under the same name in the Gondor Forum.

I think I'll come in my rock star outfit. Form fitting boot cut, low rise jeans, a tight white t-shirt, a black leather jacket, and messed up, spiky hair.
And does anyone have a menu I could look at? I'm hoping for malt beer, roaring fires, and meat off the bone. (there's a dwarf in all of us) Quote:
So, any ladies out there want to agree to not go with me, but just have a dance or two (and maybe a quick make out session if the dance goes well)? By the way, how does the seating work? Is it one long table, several smaller tables, or what? Either way, I just hope I end up seated next to someone interesting.

Out of interest, anyone else going as a hobbit? So far I feel like the odd one out. Ah well, nothing wrong with different, but I suspect Poppy would feel a little small in a roomful of elves.

Dr Marileangorifurnimaluim will be in attendance, taking notes and *ahem* studying the social customs of Middle Earth. It is rare to find such an interspecies event, to observe hobbits, elves, dwarves and men (not mention various dragon, et cetera, et cetera) interacting, I am certain it shall prove a most illuminating evening. I must admit, I do hope Mrs Chastitybelt does make an appearance. I'm writing a new paper, and her input would be most appreciated. - Maril

I think she just may be persuaded to accompany me.
I will also probably be bringing my RPG character Pimpiowyn, a half-hobbit who is *cough* involved with an Elf (who happens to be currently employed by Mith for his dance ensemble, it would seem). That should give the good Doctor something to write about, eh? Unfortunately, Poppy may still be a little intimidated by Pimpi, as the latter is half-human, and due to an incident with magic beans, is 6 feet tall. But perhaps they'll find someting in common regardless...? Lousewart, on the other hand, is a full-blooded hobbit and unassumingly short, but unfortunately has an austere nature not given to revelry or fraternization. Great fun shall be had by all on her account, I am sure. Hmmm. It says something when instead of a date, I'm bringing the Secretary of the Garden Club to a party with me.
