1. Shoe loses two pronouns, we 'ear, to reveal it. (4)
2. He describes what a bad rider did, with a pencil top in the exact middle? (2) 3. Elemental trochee reveals him. (4) 4. Illuminated anapaest - see him! (3) ROHERYN: Caviar and chicken mingle with a wherefore, initially gain rhubarb and lose their way for him? (4) 6. A German dwelling, a fricative, a note and a liquid unite. One of them slightly mingles for him. (6) 7. Mixed up lady in an inverted lens - dehydrated? See him! (1) Sorry, there was an R not accounted for, but I've edited the clue so it now works fully. (The lost direction was one of the E's). Just the Y for 'wherefore.' I think you can probably guess what the numbers are for now.

A bad rider falls off the horse... so maybe 2. Hasufel?

Correct reasoning, but a different one, and remember the pencil top.

Oh, but #6 could be haus + f-e-l = HASUFEL. Hmm... is the password GEEGEES? And if so, with no obvious derivation but a G in the right place and rightly being an 'it', could #1 be WARG? (Actually I have no idea whether any orcs actually ride wolves in the books - did they just run along next to them in The Hobbit?) hS

FELAROF: Sounds like he describes what a bad rider did, with a pencil top right in the exact middle and a direction following thereafter? (2) FIREFOOT: Elemental trochee reveals him. (4) LIGHTFOOT: Illuminated anapaest - see him! (3) ROHERYN: Caviar and chicken mingle with a wherefore, initially gain rhubarb and lose their way for him? (1) PASSWORD: GEEGEES A capital A looks like the top of a pencil. But it needed an R, so have amended the clue. No to WARG; it's the hardest one ... though not to a Tolkien language expert like your good self.

O-kay then, there's a very old word BROG, meaning 'horse'; it got replaced by the more familiar roch, roh. You can derive it by taking 'brogue', which is apparently a shoe, and removing you and he - I mean 'e.
As for #7... I have no idea. I want it to contain glass (or spec) and dry, but can't come up with any S-horses which contain either of them, let alone both. hS

I think I got 7 by working backwards from list of horses that start with S.
SNOWMANE = LENS (backwards) + WOMAN - L (no liquid = dehydrated)

Thanks Pervinca! It's been... yeah, it's been a while since I've done one of these, but hopefully it hangs together.
1. - Take a bow, Halfelven, starless but wearing your ring. 2. - Sounds like more flesh from the sky. 3. - A warrior paints and takes tea before Indy's lost city. 4. - Fourth in the race, we hear in Gondor their cars had bladed wheels. 5. - Slightly confused tint of wood? Why not briefly look behind the cellar door third. 6. - Short or shorter - see, you know not, nor I. hS

I am trying to find some clever thing with C's and U's for the last one, but for now the only name I could get out of it was NORI.

Or maybe ORI, as shorter than NORI?

1 has to have something to do with ELROND. But taking out the star just leaves ROND.
Unless it's the Ring of Barahir. Is it Arwen without her starry epesse?

1. ELERONDO, his Quenya name?
No. Doesn't make sense, apart from adding an O.

The man in the moon fell 'like a meteor,' as I recall.
Unfortunately, though, I think it was Dori, not Nori, who fell down under the Misty Mountains, causing Bilbo to fall (off his back) too.

Is it where he takes a bow and leaves - something to do with the Havens?
Did he have Vilya yet when he last wielded a bow? Is it just Vilya?

BELTHRONDING has the whole of ELROND in it, so it isn't starless, but I don't know any other named bows, except ones named by saying who owns them.

After meditating on the clues without any success for the last few days, I still haven't come up with any answer, but I think I found the one connection between "Nori" and "meteor"........
Password: AMAZON ...Making it the hobbit Nori, not the Dwarf Nori. Which probably makes #1 that guy... wassisname... Arondir? AIR + ROND.

The lost city from Indiana Jones would appear to be PETRA.
Possibly a part of that answer?

Other options seem to be:
Ceiba Z Eldorado Can anyone else who's around do anything with these? I'm a bit busy at the moment.

TANIS.
ARTANIS? Not enough of the cryptic stuff in it, I suppose. Am guessing something longer, but ending in TANIS.

I had to open up the movie threads again to remind me the other show names, and I think O matches to BRONWYN.
Looking at it, it makes sense as BROWN + Y. N. (for why not). Not sure what cellar doors have got to do with it. Is she in a cellar in one of the promo photos? I kept looking for actual wood types that might also be tints, but this was much simpler.

After days of going in my mind through every Numenorian Z-containing name I could think of, I thought - how about think of actual races, there aren't that many of them.
KHAZAD No idea how or why, but it fits the letter. "Cars had"? But why Gondor, or wheels?
