Thanks.
My sister dear, in wild woods Wandered far from home. My lord and husband always would Follow her under stary dome. I, in golden gardens blooming Happy danced with sister-in-law, While songs, from tiny beauties singing, Mingled with the raucous caw. Famous I am not, for no great deeds Have my hands performed. But one who left my side for a steed Is everywhere beloved. Who am I?

Well,you,please...
And here: Born in happy place with smile on my face My brother left bliss and he ended in unhapiness And although we're apart he'll always stay in my heart. Who am I? It's a bit tricky...

Alright then...
My sister dear, in wild woods Wandered far from home. (Yavanna wandered in the woods of Middle Earth, very far away from Valinor) My lord and husband always would Follow her under stary dome. (Orome, her husband, was the other one who wandered there) I, in golden gardens blooming (the gardens of Laurelin) Happy danced with sister-in-law, (Nessa, the dancer, was Orome's sister) While songs, from tiny beauties singing, (tiny beauties being birds) Mingled with the raucous caw. (caw from a crow, another bird - "the birds sang at her passing") Famous I am not, for no great deeds Have my hands performed. (Well, yeah) But one who left my side for a steed (Arien, for her "steed" the sun) Is everywhere beloved. (Well, everyone loves the sun!) ~~~ Okay, if the answer's Lalaith, I'm going to laugh, but I don't think that would be "a bit tricky".

Is it sad that I thought that too? Or is it just that obvious?

I'll guess, then. Galadriel (born in the bliss of Valinor, her brother Finrod left and died in Middle-earth, he was reborn in Valinor, while she remained an exile Middle-earth).
I hope I'm not right. I'm terrible when it comes to making up riddles. Write a novel, great, I'm cool, but a riddle... nope.

Well I'm pretty sure I have a good response to this, since you're being ever so impatient and want an answer. I have to get back to work but I'll be on tonight and will explain my answer fully. *leaves you all in anticipation*

*sigh* The answer is Lalwen...
I'll set up an easier riddle: I betrayed my folks with my confusion upon seeing and ilussion. Dishonourable death I had and with cruelty I was killed. Who am I?

Are you a bird? Are you a plane? Is your name by any chance Rumpelstiltskin?
None of the above? Thought so. Alright then, you're Gorlim. (PS. - Lalwen (=Lalwendë=Írien/Írimë, right?) was a nice one, but she went into exile with Fingolfin, didn't she, so why were they 'apart'?)

I don't know, Pitch, Rumplie and the like used illusion. She's talking about ilussion, which is something completely different. I don't think the answer's going to be that simple, not with that specific of word choice. Wow, it's difficult....
Incidentally, I had a really clever response, but decided not to use it. Me. (I was born in a town whose meaning is very roughly "happy", I grinned a lot as a baby, and I grew up apart from my idiot brother who is a very strange child.) I also really considered using something from another fandom just to spice things up and keep Urwen's impatience at bay, but couldn't find anyone who worked with whom I could sufficiently snark. It disappointed me to no end. You know me!

Please continue... And by apart,I mean because of his death.

By special request...
Sorry for forgetting about this thread - I really shouldn't solve any riddles without a new one in petto...
Anyway. This should be fairly easy: The west wind's breath made flesh I'm not, On my foot there is no wing; I rarely gallop, rather trot, But I'm the namesake of the King.

*sigh* Two months already... so I'll do it again. If you don't want me doing this so often, then I suggest you use your turns properly....
Anyway, it'll be uber easy this time Happy was I, I danced a lot Till my lover came along My 'greedy' father demanded exchange So we had to be strong Old friends of our kind Sent us great help But in this situation I can do nothing But wait and weep In the end it all went fine Thanks to invoking unexpected pity Now we could in peace dine and live our life in hidden city (Now the last line was meant to drive people off the right track)

Hello? Have people abandoned this thread?
I'll give it one more try. And if someone guesses right and doesn't take a tun, I'll have to start a new thread. With list of people who guessed right, but didn't take a turn? I wandered in dark woods, there I met my fate, my helmet was red but I didn't serve Morgoth nor hate. In first age I lived my day alone at first, some might say. bu lonliness didn't last long, but while it did, I stayed strong In dark woods I met my spouse, That one old chap, named after Greek God, my child and I later on familiar way decide to trod. In my home bright and happy I received a spear sticking out of my belly. Who am I? And please, take the turn after you;ve guessed correctly.

As I'm sure you're aware, Urwen, people on this site have lives offline as well, and sometimes their real life commitments overshadow the continuation of your game. If someone forgets their turn, please do be patient with them, as most of us are adults and have jobs, families, and (heaven forbid) social lives to deal with that don't involve the Downs.
I'm sure most people are more than happy to participate in various activities on the Downs, this thread included, but pressuring us to respond is, I assure you, not the way to facilitate cooperation, and creating a new thread to shame people who have better things to do than reply to your posts is not the way we encourage participation on this site. Please do be respectful of others' commitments and behave accordingly. Thank you. ~~Sally~~

Seriously, though, I can't recall anyone like that from the top of my head. Did they live in the First age? Because First age is my area of expertise.
