One way to keep this thread alive would be kind of informing us newbies, what the apprentice and the cobbler are and how they function in the game - or to give us a link, where to find that information...

Modding
Samwise Gamgee is keen to mod a WWJ game but not til May.
Is there anyone in line after Valier? Diamond - were you volunteering ?

Good thinking Nogrod! But since I have changed the roles some what from the norm I am reluctant to post them yet. I can however post the rules and such if others would care to see them, but it may ruin the surprises.
Xposted with a bunch of posts. I can post the roles and such if it's wanted

I would also like to give it a try, at some point. I would really like to come up with something over that first day misery, trying to give it kind of more heart-pumping twist from the start (if I'm modding, I shan't be there to be hated by all to begin with and to heat the discussion up )
Just thinking about those ways still...

I will answer any questions regarding my game. I would like to know if players prefer double lynching or retractable votes. There will be only one though, so I will leave that up to you players to decide.

Yeah, so as Mith said I'm keen to start a game of WWJ in the first week of May. As long as I'm not ousting anyone. We can play it by ear as to whether it's directly after Valier's- it'll depend on how long her game lasts etc..
X-Posted with Diamond18: I bow to you and shall take my place in the line.

Oh, and Nogrod, if you want to Mod after Valier, I could go after you. If you want to test your First Day idea I'd like to see how it works in case I'd want to use it.

Probably. I think there might be time enough for two games and end in early May, but three would be pushing it. Notice we zipped through Mith's game, and it still took 5 days to play to completion.

[QUOTE=Diamond18]I like retractable votes.
that figures!!! also it took longer to organise than to play I think - recruiting and that was even with issuing roles as soon as I got 13 players. I really want to get my RPG set up so I shall take a break but I some of these ideas do look good.

I'll mod one as there is time, and I have some ideas. Haven't asked this yet, but it might also be possible, that we could mod a game together with Lommy... after that you would know, what the word "flood-posting" really means!

Kitanna - you were just doomed....
but I don't think it was entirely the fault of retractable votes.....
I have to say they are perhaps only appropriate for small games... the idea of modding a game of 20 with them is terrifying.

I will be starting my game as soon as there is enough players! I would like to start by monday if we have enough. I need to know if the current players on my list with ? will be playing or not.
List of players (Needed at least 15 to start) Teleperaca Kitanna Diamond18-Barmaid Roa_Aoife Farael? Nogrod? Also I need more votes for double lynching or retractable votes Diamond18- Likes retractable votes Kitanna- Does not want retractable votes Roa- Likes retractable votes I plan on making the first day a little more interesting as Nogrod suggested, but not too complicated. I may give hints, I may not..

Sign me up! I missed a game or so, and I'm itchy to get into another one.
I like retractable votes, since they can help get the village talking. It also makes the game less predictable, since everything could change last minute.

I'm not really opposed to double lynchings. They can weigh the game in favor of either side, but they do add something interesting to the game. I would think it depends on how big the game gets. A small game, no, a large game, yes.

I think double lynching and retractable votes are both potentially fun, but I don't think they ever belong in the same village.
Double lynches belong in huge villages, or they are merely a liability, not a tool. And retractable votes belong in smaller villages, or they are just confusing.

I don't know, Jenny. The first game I played in had about 15 players, retractable votes, and double lynchings. It stayed pretty even, and in the end it came down to two villagers and a wolf (Ang). It was a pretty good game.

Double lynchings bad in a small village, otherwise, everything suits me... but I do prefer retractables in anycase.

Well, then, if the village gets big, I'd say doubles. Otherwise the game will drag on. If it stays small to moderately sized, do retractables.

Ok I agree! now we just need more players! I can post the rules and such today - the retractable/double lynch until there's all the players, if there wanted.

Moddings-list.
Lommy thought the idea of us "double-modding" a game a neat idea. So we could do that, as our turn comes (after Diamond and Samwise)... And as we have quite a time to it - our turn would probably be in May (?) - we could come up with something lots of fun and even more of bafflement. Hope so!
