Sorry. Neither West Beleriand nor Doraiath was the land where the mingling of the Noldor and the Sindar came to pass soonest nor was Feanor the lord of that land.

Hmmm.... Perhaps if I had thought of taking a glance at Silma rather than making a blind guess. Looking it up... Ah-ha. During the Long Peace, the forces of Morgoth were restrained, and all of Beleriand prospered and grew rich. In many parts of the land, the Sindar and the Noldor became welded into one people, but this occured soonest in Nevrast, the region west of Dor-lomin, beyond Ered Lomin. Turgon was their lord.

Oedipus killed his father Laius and then (unknowingly) married his mother Jocasta (or Iocaste if you prefer). When he found out the horrible truth, he blinded himself and Jocasta committed suicide by hanging herself. I don`t see any parallel with a Vala though.

Oedipus means &quot;swollen foot&quot;, because he was stabbed in his feet as a newborn child, and later again. The Vala who got stabbed in his foot was Melkor, rather Morgoth, in the fight against Fingolfin.

I do not know if he was the first, but Beorn neither ate his own livestock, nor did he hunt or eat wild animals. It was said he lived mostly on cream and honey, and apparently he thrived thereupon.
