Re: Silm: Maeglin

I was rather inclined to think that it was my turn just there, actually. Doesn't matter though; my question wasn't very good anyway.

Nimloth, I believe the answer was.

Re: Silm: Maeglin

I'm sorry; I meant my question as answer. That is, I think that the two are the same. No? (Dior?) Oh, I'm editing because I just looked back and saw that I was a full page behind. I'm terribly sorry. I'm not sure if it was simple incompetence (the likeliest explanation) or the wonky behavior of the board tonight. Have you noticed how slow and peculiar it is since "the fix." Anyhow, to try and address your question (the right question), it was an inconspicuous cloak.

Re: Ulmo

"Thus unseen he came at last to the dark region of Avathar. That narrow land lay South of the bay of Aldamar, at the feet of the Pelori, and it's long and mournful shores stretched away into the south, lightless and unexplored. There, beneath the sheer walls of the mountains and thee cold, dark sea, Ungoliant had made her abode."

Melkor sought her there.

It is recounted in the Sil that Morgoth could 'change his form or walk unclad bebneath the sky'. But he was soon to lose this power forever. How and when did he lose it?

Shocking! With all the Wights here, no one could answer a question about a barrow! Tom Bombadil instructs the Hobbits that if they come upon a barrow when leaving the Old Forest, they should pass it on the West side.

Another one. Thingol meets Melian in Nan Elmoth. Hundreds of years later, what elf met what elf maiden in the same forest?

Was it Brethil? I don´t know if it was completely within the Girdle; the answer could also be Dimbar.

Brethil was outside the Girdle but part of Doriath... Dimbar probably wasn't part of Doriath (and thus def. not within the Girdle) but it was on the border.

Part of Aelin-uial was in the Girdle. Nivrim was the third one I am looking for. Arthorien I never heard of.

Go for it Gwaihir. You found a (partial) third one.

Alright, which Vala had the most dealings with ME in the First Age (not including the Great March of the Elves led by Orome)?

What is the name of the mounain that the greater of the two tributary branches of Gelion comes from?
