Okay. The game thread is now created with an initial narration. There are already a few hints / teasers about the oncoming game in there. Although even if I have used in one place a wording that might be interpreted as the Gaur making a choice - it will not mean that the moderator would be spreading the roles by choices. All the roles will be drawn with a deck of cards.
If you would like to have occupations you should send them to this thread. If all have not time or a possibility to give one I may draw them from the hat before the game starts. The Deadline of 10PM GMT seems to be the one we're going for. I will be establishing the full rules in the game thread probably tomorrow - or at last on Saturday - so all the points and questions concerning them should be made in the near future...

I'll be adding your occupations as soon as I get them. If you don't come up with one, I'll come up with one for you... I will be sending the roles to you quite several hours early on Sunday. The questionnaire will be included so everyone will get a PM with a role and the questionnaire. I hope you could answer the questionnaires early enough so that I will have time to count them together before the Day1 opening post will be due on Monday 10PM GMT. (Remember: no personal views will be revealed, only the overall count in narrative way eg. no numbers) The wolves may use the extra hours for their benefit if they like...

The sign up will close on Sunday midday GMT. So anyone wishing to still join will be taken in until that hour. After that I'm sending the roles & questionnaires. The rules are now on the actual thread. If you wish to comment on them, please do it in this thread. The rules are subject to change if you have good points / generally applauded ones / you point to missing rules that should be cleared. The rules will be final at the moment Day1 begins.

I have to ask some dumb questions...
Do the werewolves know who each other is? I guess no? Do the Rangers know who each other is? I guess yes? I've not played in one with Rangers. You do not have to answer if my ignorance jeopardises plans.

Talking about occupations still.
I think it would also be perfectly legitimate "occupation" to be Eiliniel's neighbour or whatever related to her or Gorlim. And surely someone could be Eiliniel! Although it would be sad to see her lynched or turn out to be a werewolf...

I'd like to be the village's augur...well, as long as there isn't really going to be a Seer in this game.

I shall be Gorlim's lighthearted brother, Anguirel the Merry...
Oh and Nogrod, your idea about someone being Eiliniel is brilliant...

The latest occupations added to post #47.
An innkeeper would be nice one for someone to take for narrational reasons. If no one wishes to be one I'll come up with something else then (or if someone will not give me an occupation I might assign one to that post). I'm getting things ready... This is so much fun! I'm leaving to a party soon and will be back in about 24 hours, posting you the roles and questionnaires then.

Innkeeper sounds like a good occupation. May I claim it?

wow, i got an idea, maybe for next game but the occupations could be "distant" relations of any characters in any of Tolkiens works, anguriel gave me that idea with his being Gorlim's light-hearted brother...
its just an idea

Occupation- Town Fletcher (someone who makes arrows)
Pfft, I drove to a party 4 hours away last night, before driving back at 3 AM. More people were showing up as we left. I'm never DDing again.

I'll be a homeless village waif.
Although I must admit, I've always been a little curious what sort of occupation would fall to me if I just let the mod pick one. |

A problem, Rune... I made you a Moonshiner. I'm not sure if that phrase kind of gets through. Please native-speakers, help us out with this. Other ones that came to my mind would be something like Spirit brander or burner (idioms straight from Finnish language).
And if there are open female occupations still this evening (RL), I'll be making someone Eiliniel... I'll start dealing the cards in a moment. And I will do a lot of it to ensure whom Lady Fortune really wishes to get any given role. So the roles will not be dealt with a sudden kick of luck but with a long process where one really has to "earn" the role with the cards defying the expected mean value.

The roles and questionnaires have been sent. If you haven't received a PM please PM me to check your role.
The wolves are allowed to start PM'ing. Night1 has started in practise, although it is still 9½ hours until the official starting hour.

You may bring your occupations here up to the start of the game (Day1) on Monday 10 PM GMT, but if you will fail to do that, I'll come with one to you. The present occupations can be seen in post #47.
Thank's for all the answers to the questionnaires so far. This looks fun indeed! Keep the answers flowing... And good luck to all of you, whatever role you have received!

I'll be the Retired Village Idiot.
The idea of it makes me laugh, as how can an idiot retire if he or she was ever an idiot in the first place? My tunic is stained with thirty years' worth of rotten tomato stains but I have long since popped my pig's-bladder-on-a-stick with which I used to thwack the mayor over the head at village feasts...

Rikae & Kath: if you're not giving me an occupation soon I will make another one of you Eiliniel... (the role is up for graps for the one who announces it first)
Mac's role is not made up by himself - he gave me the liberty of coming up with it. Just to let you know.

I don't think it is impossible to associate that to being the village idiot... I'm not sure about this as I seem not to be able to grasp it. What is this all about? I think I lost the track of this from the very beginning...

Volo, Farael and Morm, I wish to have an occupation from you still... I can't guarantee I'm coming up with nice ones if I have to do it myself...
Lal, I hope the current one is okay... Also I'm missing four questionnaires... 23 hours to the action...
