Try reading up the thread Lal
According to my dictionary it means being greedy for gain.

Actually I quite honestly answered that I like seeing someone open a present from me best. This is because I sometimes go to great length planning and preparing said present and my reward is seeing it go over well. When I open up presents I'm always so self-conscious, and really anything my heart truly desires I most likely already bought for myself.
I answered that I have friends from many countries and ethnic background (thanks to the internet, wink wink) and other things rather un Ted Sandyman-like so it seems the thing that gave me such an unsavory result was my propensity to spend quiet evenings at home rather than par-tay, and pay more attention to local news.

Nice test, Fordhim. I thought I'd remind everyone that there is a personality test on the main site: http://www.barrowdowns.com/personality.php I don't recall if we had a thread dedicated to results. * EDIT * Here is a thread about the older personality test .

B-W, I thought that when I had taken that test I got Samwise. But as I can't find a post of mine in that thread, I can't remember for sure. Which probably explains the second part of the result I just got:

Don't worry Diamond18, another Ted Sandyman has appeared! And a Sauron too! I'm off to try fishing for another answer. (EDIT: Changing just two questions, produced Sam. Quite a switch.)
As a rather fun side note, my daughter's result was Sam, and her best friend? Why Frodo, of course. Last edited by Hilde Bracegirdle; 04-08-2006 at 01:00 PM. |

Same here Form. But let's pretend that's not why we got those scores, and continue to believe that it's just because we're smart

I'm Samwise Gamgee. No big surprise there, with fair amount of kids and homebody tendencies!
I do wish there was a third option on the giving/getting presents: like both equally! You are 84% Insular, 84% Sociable, and 30% Cupiditous! You are the salt of the earth. You enjoy all the simple pleasures of life and want to share those with your friends and family. You are quite content where you are and have no desire to go anywhere else. You frequently have the mistaken impression that people like you far better than you deserve. I wish I could meet you in person. For Firefoot: I was Gollum. Heh-heh, hobbit all the way but definitely good at times and mean at times.

I was Sauron, now I'm Frodo.
And I was 0% insular, so I'm not sure I'm any kind of hobbit at all....

I seem to have some kind of protagonist-syndrome; first I got Sauron, then Frodo. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one, though.

I am Samwise Gamgee, much better than that dratted Bilbo. Actually Sam is my favorite hobbit so it's nice to hear.

I found out that I would be
Peregrin Took You are 61% Insular, 61% Sociable, and 38% Cupidinous! You are a bit flighty but steadfast and friendly in the very best of ways. You tend to rely on your friends' greater wisdom and guidance, and that's all right with you so long as each day ends with a party. You can give way to temptation, but you usually know where to draw the line. I tend to agree with most of this statement, and I was Saruman in the Evil test |

Frodo and Shelob...what a pair.
" You are 15% Insular, 61% Sociable, and 7% Cupidinous! You are friendly and open with almost everyone you meet, albiet in a quiet way. You love your home but the world is a wide place and you want to know and experience everything you can about it. You think of others before yourself at almost every turn." Yes, I am incredibly friendly to everyone, and I always invite them in, maybe even feed them, but only to fatten them up. And then, I eat. I always share, though... It's those quiet ones you have to watch out for. And strange, even taking the personality test on the site at least two (possibly more) years after when I first took it, I still get the same result (yes, I remembered): "Based on your answers, you are most like Legolas You were also very much like Aragorn" Mmm, lembas.
