Sincere and merry congratulations.

So did you mention the Downs/Werewolf at any point in the ceremony?

Thanks everyone.

It was a fantastic day. Things came off almost without a hitch, the weather was perfect, and a lot of fun was to be had. Especially where the fun was to be had, it was excellent to have so many Downers in attendance.

And, to answer Eomer, I am afraid that no particular mention of the Downs was made at any formal point, but the peculiar feature of Downermoots I have attended is that Tolkien and the Downs itself have a decidedly low profile in conversation... for whatever reason. Besides, with Boro and Fea in the wedding party wearing jade that's a close ringer for Barrow-downs "ghastly green," did we really need to state the obvious?

This reminds me, do we know the final tally? (At one point Form was telling me there was a distinct possibility of having 144 guests . If it was close to this, I'd be happy just saying it was 144 and calling it a day - which, mind you, also had me waiting for a Bilbo-ish speech..."I don't know half of you half as well as I should like... ")

We did discuss which one of us was to yell out "Poudfeet!", during Formy's speech. Unfortunately an opportune moment never occurred.

However Eomer, the invitations were magnificent and inscribed in gold ink though, alas, not impossible to decline in my case - though I did so with an appropriate LOTR quotation....

Some of the guests were muttering about the one ring during the ceremony. And there is a picture of werewolf footprints on the dance floor.

I had a fantastic time, the day was perfect, the bride and groom were adorably wrapped up in each other--but not to the complete exclusion of guests--there were several Party Trees, and, well, it was simply an honour to be there and great to be amongst Downers met and previously unmet. Pictures coming shortly, as the couple now have spoken.

Oh, and, there were jokes about Aragorn and Legolas coming in the van.
