you can join,... my guess would be Aredhel, daughter of Fingolfin, since Fingolfin lived in Hithlum, which was to the north... and Fingolfin granted land to teh edain in Dor Lomin

My guess would be Luthien, daughter of Thingol, who was the first High King of the Sindar, rather crazy to boot, and "renovated" a cave to make Menegroth.

Mablung of the Heavy Hand, and he was slain by the Dwarves in the assault on Menegroth.

Correct, Finwe. Now, can you tell me the common theme?

They or their makers were in Doriath at some point or the other.
Elwing lived in Doriath for a time. Galadriel, the maker of the Phial of Earendil, stayed with Melian, in Doriath, for a while. Mablung was from Doriath, and was a marchwarden.

All right. Here goes:
I'm going to have 5 questions. Here is the first one: 1) Elves were generally a happy race, although there were plenty who had slightly suicidal tendencies. Give me the name of the Elf who laughed, who was sibling to the Elf who challenged, and died.

Lalaith who was the sibling of Turin who challenged either Glaurung the dragon or his sword Gurthang.

Ok... it is one of the lesser known works of Tolkien. I believe it is found in the book, Peoples of Middle-earth (part of the HoME series). If you don't have it, or don't have access to it, try doing a Google search. Those always work.

Yes indeed it is.
Firefoot -- 1 2.) The Elf who challenged had a rather disputed youngest, who was noble to be sure. Name that youngest.

Nope.
HINT: He's really disputed. So disputed in fact, that not many people even know that he exists, or that he's the youngest son.

As Firefoot, I also needed an extensive Google search to come across Argon. May it be him that you are looking for?

Right you are!
Firefoot -- 1 Elrond of Rivendell -- 1 3) There is one, descended from the father of the one who challenged, who keeps changing from the grandson of the challenger to the grandnephew or great-grandnephew of the challenger. Name this star of Elvendom. (rather easy one there)

As usual, Saucy is right!
Firefoot -- 1 Elrond of Rivendell -- 1 Saucepan Man -- 1 4) Brother of the challenger, sun-like not-oldest, father of heroes, my daughter married and her line united with Hope's line.
