There were fifteen members of the quest for Erebor. As the goblins put it:

Since The Laurenendorian has not come back to post a number, I thought I'd revive this game.

Ooh, not quite. But you're close enough.

One hundred and five is the number of riders who survived the attack on the orcs at Fangorn. There had been one hundred and twenty. Fifteen men and twelve horses perished in the attack. (I had forgotten about the fifteen.)

Quote:
'Riders! cried Aragorn, springing to his feet. 'Many riders on swift steeds are coming towards us!'
'Yes,' said Legolas, 'there are one hundred and five. Yellow is their hair, and bright are their spears. Their leader is very tall.'
...
'There are three empty saddles, but I see no hobbits,' said Legolas.
Quote:
Further away, not far from the river, where it came streaming out from the edge of the wood, there was a mound. It was newly raised: the raw earth was covered with fresh-cut turves: about it were planted fifteen spears.
So there were 105 riders and 108 horses when they met the three walkers.

Your turn.

I think it might be 4 Kings of Numenor before the sceptre was passed to the youngest son of Tar-Elendil instead of his daughter who was elder.

Question

This is such a great game that it deserves to be dug up from the Quiz Room vaults.

So, I will ask a new question, a nice easy one to start with.

What is the significance of the number 3019?

Just thought I'd jump in with a wild guess, but maybe...

The combined total of the Walkers and Riders?

Or also possibly the number of Aragorn's kinsmen that came to their rescue in the two towers.

Or... days days, how many days did they stay in certain places? I can't remember...

Probably not right, but maybe someone elses memory will get sparked.

Eighteen Middle Earth Books would do it, I suppose. 12 HoME+3Trilogy+Hobbit+Silm+UT= 18! *drumroll*
