Naria, yes, I call that second wind 'Barrow-down' syndrome. However I think it a wonderful affliction, something I think The Might should embrace. I long ago gave up resisting the alure of the Downs.
Rune how could you loose the bug!?!

well it's 2 o'clock again, and I'm here looking at the Downs...which is GREAT as far as I'm concerned...
well I am actually online only 50% of the time, the other 50% I spend looking for quotes

well...one hour, and 2 South Park episodes later, I am still on the Downs, and I am starting to ask myself when I'll go to bed...
At least I haven't ended up as bad as in my last summer holiday when I sometimes happened to go to bed at 5 or 6 AM...the birds were already singing outside

well, it's 3:38, and I finally decided that I must go to sleep...it should probably only take about 30 minutes till I'll do so...
I really dunno why I do this...I mean, I could just as well go to sleep earlier and then wake up early and stay longer online on the downs in the morning I guess I like the darkness outside or many maybe not being disturbed while typing...dunno

Rune, Might, I thoroughly enjoyed your running commentary..and the birds are an excellent way of judging the time of morning! I tend to be on the Downs in the evenings but am distracted by the films.
At the moment I am watching "License to Kill", Dalton has to be one of least favourite bonds, but there we are...on a side note Casino Royale was voted Britain's movie of the Year 2006...I do feel sorry for Formendacil. What was the comedy DVD you replaced him with?

It's Rune's late nighting that enabled me to learn about his not-so-secret-now fear of turtles.

Fear of turtles ?
I remember I had that once after I saw the ninja turtles...it's forunately gone now I just realised that by staying up so late each night I'm getting in pretty good shape for the New Year's Eve party on Sunday...so yay to the Downs !!!

I did not replace Formendacil with a dvd. . .I was watching it while chatting with him and then again when he had been replaced with Di.
Thanks Durelin. . .I tell you one kind-of-secret and you blur it out! I actually loved the ninja turtles, especially Raphael. |

I however always found their adversaries quite strange...
Turtles are nice...I wonder if any are mentioned by Tolkien? Anyway...I just realised that today (no longer tomorrow) is the last day of the year... So before I forget to do this I'm going to wish a "HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!" to all the late nighters around here, and may we spend many sleepless hours together on the Downs in 2007.

Oh well at first he had written Shelob and Ungoliant as giant turtles, but decided that speed would be a problem and therefor chaged it.
Once again I am sitting up late, it is almost 4 am and I was planing on being in bed by 3 am the lates. . . . |

don't worry, you're well trained for tomorrow...er....today
but when you stay up so late I guess New Year's Eve isn't so special anymore... I now just realised we have the same time zone

So do I...if 13:00 can still be considered early (it is to me)
And yes, that's it, blowing stuff up is still special about today ! I enjoy doing that, I would probably have made a good Orc.

I am sure all these late nights are addling your brains, fear of turtles, blowing things up!?!
Such distinguished company..I have found i've been going to be relativly early, usually 2am, though I am not on the Downs. I think it's the terrible adverts I have to put up with between programs that just puts me off staying up late, that and a terrible home connection Whereas at uni I don't have tv, so no adverts, and Uni broadband connection, I am looking forward to getting back. And a "here here" to many more years of sleepless nights!

Unfortunately...or maybe not I have to stop with the late nighting, and tomorrow will be the last day I can be on so long, cause on Monday, it's back to school...
Fortunately I'm not having such a hard time there yet so staying active won't be a problem for me

I definitely will...the first two weeks are really easy since this is the end of the first semester and since all our marks are already ready we're not going to do much...but afterwards it's back to the books for me

Well good luck with the work, I myself have a few weeks of revision till exams and in that time the lecturers are not going to bother us, which is nice of them..2:10am and i'm working on some new avatars, unfortunately the avatar restrictions are slightly annoying, however I know that it is necessary.

I'm just taking the freedom of a full week off to hang around on here late at night! A post for the Mead Hall is slowly taking shape, but with how lazy I'm being at the moment there's no way it'll be done before I go to bed.

hmmm...my plan didn't really work, and because I was used to going to bed so late I wasn't able to sleep much last night (3 hours) resulting in a not very nice first day of school...but I guess I'll eventually have to get used to it

Lol, I know what you mean. I'm sure you will get back into the swing of things, though it helps if you have an interesting timetable for the day. There is nothing worse at times then being extremely tired, stuck at the front of the class being spoken too about various effects of globalisation for example, or the 'ins and outs' of primacy, or the fourth lecture on deuterosomes..
How was your timetable that day?

it was ok
since we wrote our tests right before getting our holiday we didn't get them back last year so today we didn't do much, just got our marks and the tests... I was personally satisfied with my results but I know what you mean...some classes are ok, but sometimes, like in German, I feel like falling asleep but I'm sure the late hour visits on the Barrow-Downs will soon disappear (unfortunately) and everything will go back to normal...

Ah yes, the best start to the term, marks. Mhm, I should be getting some marks back, however the majority of our exams are in just over a weeks time. The old semester exams being at the start of the new...
Glad you did well.

Oh no!!!
The skwerlz are upon us...!!! Sorry for the chatty posts my lady, will not make that again. Though I must ask myself...are we the only 3 who are late nighters...seems like a minority on the Downs...probably because most others don't have the possibility to do this in the first place But it is nice to sometimes have the possibility to be online with people from the other side of the world...

Not necessarily, Might. I, for one, have written some of my best essays at 4 am (the day they're due, natch.)

I often write my papers around 4am as well. I am always amazed how I usually manage to receive A's and B's on them. I also write my RPG posts around 2-3am.
I suppose I tend to be more creative around the wee hours of the morning.
