Lang strand is close but not correct. It is close it has to do with water and is something both directly deal with in fotr.
Elmo. As in St Elmo’s Fire then replace the beginning with IR for IR Baboon

It's somewhere near Moria, I guess. Where the bad weather drives them indoors.

No it isn't. It's LORINAND, I think, another name for Lothlorien.

Lang is the correct start
The monsoons bit would lead to the second half of the word. It’s an alternative name to something.

I had to look this one up, but apparently LANGFLOOD was a name used for the Anduin by the ancestors of the Rohirrim, and a monsoon is/can cause a flood.

Thanks, Morsul! Good puzzle.
I have racked my brains to think of a new idea, and have just succeeded. You'll have to wait for the clues, though. I'll write them tomorrow.

1. A good guy finds his way, then stumbles, then finally arrives.
2. Turn around, Midge! Go on - for him! 3. Tartan article mingles for him. 4. Three breakfast items, dental loss, nasal gain. Mix it up for him. 5. Stop, dwarf! Dance for him! 6. Scarlett back home? Sound the brass for him! 7. Cattle? Well, he's lowing with chaos, sans direction. 8. A melancholy raven is further troubled for him.

6. Redhorn? Scarlet red back home might be like back to basics or primary color so red. The Horn is a a brass instrument (I think)

Horn is correct, but note the spelling of Scarlett.

6. Arathorn? I spent a while looking for a Scarlett Johansson movie that worked but couldn’t. BUT in that search Gone With the Wind popped up. Scarlett’s home is Tara Backwards Arat then horn.

If this is right I’m making a really bold guess at the Password. Arathorn is really only famous for being Aragorns father. Fathers isn't long enough neither is parents but.
Lineage fits.

Sorry, it isn't a 'first letters' password. (This one wouldn't work with first letters). P.S. Very good point about Arathorn's claim to fame!

I was banking on the Second A being in the password.
Tartan is most associated with Kilts. can’t find a related anagram for that though. In the meantime did you know Tartan designs act as a sort of Coat of Arms? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_tartans Edit; 4 has to be a super long name. But I’ll wager a guess. Hamfast Gamgee it has Ham, egg, meat in the name. Not sure how phlegm, snot, or boogers enter into it though.

2. Turn around, Midge! Go on - for him! 3. Tartan article mingles for him. HAM GAMGEE: Three breakfast items, dental loss, nasal gain. Mix it up for him. 5. Stop, dwarf! Dance for him! ARATHORN: Scarlett back home? Sound the brass for him! 7. Cattle? Well, he's lowing with chaos, sans direction. 8. A melancholy raven is further troubled for him. I'll let you have HAM GAMGEE. It's HAM + EGG + TEA - T + M. D is classed as a dental sound/letter; M as a nasal.

???D???: A good guy finds his way, then stumbles, then finally arrives.
???E???: Turn around, Midge! Go on - for him! ???N???: Tartan article mingles for him. HAM GAMGEE: Three breakfast items, dental loss, nasal gain. Mix it up for him. ???T???: Stop, dwarf! Dance for him! ARATHORN: Scarlett back home? Sound the brass for him! ???O???: Cattle? Well, he's lowing with chaos, sans direction. SARADOC: A melancholy raven is further troubled for him. THEME: FATHERS Indeed, on both counts. ??? indicates that the red letter could be ANY letter of the answer, including the first and last one.

I'm not saying Paladin isn't AN answer. But not that one.
Also, my clues tend to account for every single letter. That's just how I write them.

So here’s where I’m working from and I realized I have a big issue. I’m thinking so far they’re all fathers of members of the fellowship all well and good until you realize there’s 9 answers including the password. Nine members of the fellowship nine answers all well and good. But Gandalf doesn’t exactly have a dad. Could be stretching and have Eru in there somewhere.
If Paladin Took is an answer it’s 3 or 7 It’s the only one to include kilt. But taking kilt out leaves paadnoo and how that all fits beats me. And on 7 I’ve got nothing 5 being Thranduil works because Halt Durin

Bending the rules is Password Thread tradition, anyway.

I never would’ve gotten the Midge one. I was stuck on Midge being a gnat and trying to make tang work. I’ll have to think a bit before posting one. I really enjoyed these they were super fun!

Might be a bit easy but honestly I’m in love with a few of these clues so I couldn’t resist.
1. See With with centers of activity would reveal these overweight friends 2. Brass Players are always welcome guests. 3. None to be had unless speaking on 4. 4. A piece of boiled leaf is quite the venture. 5. Truly a pleasure if one replaces their pleas with trees. 6. Very Matt Smith-Like with a little extra to follow 7. A dedication of direction that goes on and on. ——— 8. A Single Disgusting expression 9. If you could see multiple raps at the door the long of the short of it, it would be this incredulous fellow. 10. On the whole this whole affair could be said to be awaited to use a similar term.
