Hints please?
Also, you are being slightly unfair. I offered you hints freely without you asking because I noticed you were struggling, and yet you don't do the same. Well, next time I won't give you hints, no matter how much you are struggling.

If 'checked everything' means looked at synonym websites, I'm not surprised you haven't found anything.
If it isn't on Tolkien Gateway, it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. You might also try following the order of the elements in the clue, because I always put things in the order they appear in the answer, unless there's an anagram indicator. So HALE is right, but it needs a little scrambling. And something needs to go before it. It's not that hard. It's an answer we've had quite recently. 'What a load of *****!' A modern expression, meaning rubbish/nonsense/no good. Or ''This film is *****!' (Not a swear word).

It means an undergarment over here.
I believe it means trousers in America.

PANTHAEL: Rubbish without sibilance; well but confused. There he is!
ARWEN: The car went last. (Gandalf and Aragorn were in the van, remember). But look inside and see her. ROUT: A round trip reveals him. Then he returns. 4. Find him appearing in rude films? NERWEN: Think archaically, take two paths, and circulate to find her. 6. A jealousy over a locomotive worsens before he is revealed. 7. Willow loses incentive, initially, but then winds itself around her. SILVER-FOOT: See where the legend lies, breathed through this, and join it to an iambus, a trochee, an anapaest or a dactyl. For her. Panthael it is. An epesse of Samwise.

No. What's a paronym?
.... Ah. A word that is a derivative of another. Not the answer, anyway. Try again! It's not hard.

Parsnips?
This one has no theme, I guess, then.

I think it does, and I think I know both the theme and the password.
If #4 is TELEPORNO... ... then the password is PARTNERS, the theme is married couples, and the remaining two answers are names of Aragorn and Rosie respectively. (I'm kind of drawn to TELCONTAR for #6, since it includes most of 'train', but it's only most, and 'telco' looks tricky to get 'jealousy' from.) hS |

Ah, 6 is A + ENVY + TRAIN = ENVINYATAR, 'the Renewer', or Aragorn at his most Jesusy.
7 starts with R, so looks like Rose or Rosie; 'Willow loses incentive' sounds like you remove will to get 'ow', but I can't for the life of me see a way from there to an answer. hS |

For her. A jealousy over a locomotive is, indeed, A TRAIN ENVY. OSIER - I = ROSE. (You lose the initial of 'incentive'). The fact that I ran TUOR backwards instead of using a different name and used SILVER-FOOT because Celebrindal did not fit was a big clue to the theme being partners ... and why would I do that if I were not trying to fit answers to a theme? Over to Huinesoron!

Whoo! Thanks for that; I would never have got osier.
For this one, I will tell you that all the answers are people, and all of them are by their usual name. 1. Here we are held in bondage. 2. Black is my blame. 3. I hunger still. 4. The West has failed. 5. Now I cannot forget them. 6. My pride has fallen. 7. My dread is beyond enduring. Good luck! hS |

Are they all speeches said by one person - the person who said it being the answer?
Frodo said 'The West has failed,' in the Tower of Cirith Ungol. Others might have said it too, perhaps? Denethor, maybe? Saruman? Not sure. … Is 'I hunger still' Ungoliant?

Ancalagon?
(Washing machines (don't) last longer with Ancalagon). Although I can't remember a specific example of this, is L Legolas with regard to the (sound of the) waves?

The idea for this theme is Pervinca's.
1. A dizzy insect within a palindrome? He is there. 2. A chaotical month surrounds a brief country, for her. 3. A confused gang-member reveals him. 4. A returning element is inside a measuring unit, after a rodent. See her! 5. A disoriented country and returning musical symbol reveal him. Thanks for the theme idea, Pervinca!

Is 4 TAR-MIRIEL?
RAT backwards; IR (Iridium?) inside MILE. ... Is 1 GOTHMOG? MOTH inside GOG (a palindrome, if not an actual word. Although it's the nickname of a character in a late 70's children's programme set near Newcastle, called 'The Paper Lads').
