And if I am right, then the password is Celeborn.

MAGLOR: Spoil, but beam endlessly within for him.
2. Two geezers join to make a third! (More nicknames than epesses). 3. Disperse racket because ... oh, just see him! 4. Film genre disquiets him a little. 5. He sounds like a mutilated fish. 6. He's a famous gun, give and take a vowel, but lacks sibilance. 7. Endless pastry adds pronoun for him. DWALIN: Turn, turn, and swallow metal for him. Sorry, no. Colt is not part of the answer, and Celeborn is not the password.

I know about the gun because it's in a film that stars Ian Holm.

Oh, forget it then. I'll just say that 3 is Minastir and be done with it, since you never said whether 'mina' means 'disperse' or not.

So in 1988 Ian Holm starred in 'The Browning Version', but 'browning' doesn't have any silibants anyway.
In 1968, however, he was in 'The Bofors Gun', which immediately points to: 6. BOFUR. hS |

5 looks like an anagram, but also a soundalike; that makes me wonder if it's actual an anagram of 'fish' itself, since stacking synonym+anagram+sounds-like is pretty heavy. But... well, unless CHIPH is a famous Tolkien character I've forgotten, I can't do much with that.
2 looks like we just push two nicknames together. 'Geezer' can mean either 'man' or 'old man'; I wonder if this is a pop culture reference, though, rather than pointing to two Tolkien characters. 3 I have no idea. It looks like the sort of clue where the first half actually includes the name written straight, hidden in the words... but I can't see one in there. 4... 'disquiets a little' could indicate a slight anagram of a genre. 'Drama' nearly gives AMROD, but that's the best I can do (and that's not 'a little'). 7... I really liked your 'Tar-' idea, Urwen, but the pronouns don't seem to work. 'Pastry' could mean a specific baked good, or the ingredient... ah. FILO pastry, endless, +I = FILI. With BOFUR and FILI in place, the password could be a few things. Glanduin the river of Eriador seems unlikely; Glirhuin the mortal Harper at least gives a First Age connection. Goldórin (Telerin for 'Quenya') seems even less likely, and Gwathren (Sindarin, 'shadowy') doesn't say much. So I'll have to go with GLIRHUIN for the password, and guess that they're all musicians (the dwarves in the Unexpected Party). hS |

Any of these?

If NER also means 'old', then it's Elrond (OLD+NER)
And the last one is Fingon (which sounds like FIN GONE)

MAGLOR (HARP): Spoil, but beam endlessly within for him.
???L???: Two geezers join to make a third! (More nicknames than epesses). FINROD (HARP): Disperse racket because ... oh, just see him! NORI (FLUTE): Film genre disquiets him a little. FINGON (HARP): He sounds like a mutilated fish. BOFUR (CLARINET): He's a famous gun, give and take a vowel, but lacks sibilance. FILI (FIDDLE): Endless pastry adds pronoun for him. DWALIN (VIOL): Turn, turn, and swallow metal for him. THEME: MUSICIANS PASSWORD: GLINGRIN = 'MUSICAL.' It is Elrond, but at least TRY to find two names in it. Both of them are short for something. Huey, I personally think 'Only Fools And Horses' has been horrendously overplayed, but if you've ever seen an episode, you should know one of the names.

I wondered about that, but (to show you exactly how bad my anagram game is), I looked at DELRON and went 'nope, that's not a character', and then wandered off. ^_^
('ner' of course is 'man', so old+ner would be a bilingual translation of 'geezer', I guess.) hS |

TRIVIA: Alone of Thorin's company, Oin and Gloin do not play an instrument at the Unexpected Party. Bombur plays a drum, but I could not fit both him and Bofur into the puzzle. DEL (short for Derek) and RON (short for Ronald) gives us ELROND. Over to Urwen.

Well, this one was sorta made in jest, but I can't resist putting it up, mostly because the clues and the answers fit in so perfectly.
1. What, in Latin? A city and an element. In turmoil, dark ones are revealed 2. Cured, with a direction? She is there. 3. The Young one loses way, and he is found 4. Here, a confused mafia boss is within slang in a spin. 5. Mix four elements and see him. 6. Close the lid. Rile everyone up. See her within. 7. Here, a toxic alcohol gains direction. Hope you enjoy it anyway.

Oh, the first one must be CALIQUENDI, i think?
Qua (Latin 'what') .... The only city I can see is NICE. Is there an element with the symbol Ld or Dl?

Got the elves the wrong way round.
MORIQUENDI. QUID + ROME + NI(CKEL). And Rome was the city I thought most likely anyway, before I mixed up the light and dark elves.

I was hoping that Huinesoron would get it, since it's been so long since he made one.
