How true, Elennar. You can only use an LotR bookmark in and LotR book! Anything else is practically a sin.
***When you check LotR.net every day to see if they have new RotK stuff up. To all of you who haven't checked lately, go there now; the new teaser poster is up!!! Abedithon le! [ July 01, 2003: Message edited by: Sapphire_Flame ]

My parents have tried banning me from using the Internet, but it didn't work. I use it anyway when they're at work, so they realized that there was absolutely no point in banning me from it, since I was going to find ways to get on this site anyway.

I have a half an hour time limit on the net. Sucks.
I saw an ent yesterday! I swear! I was camping in the woods, out looking for firewood, and I saw an ent. Nobody believes me...

You see elves walking down the street (swear that woman I saw from the bus was an elf, she had pointy ears!)
scenario: you are sitting at the computer, engrossed in making a desktop picture (click here and click on backgrounds if you're interested) and someone says "Ring" and you immediately spin round and go huh? what? guilty guilty

Example: I was babysitting my cousins last week, and I asked them what movie they wanted to watch. They thought for a minute, then one of them said "I want to watch Lord of the Rings!" Another example: My cousin has given his son, Adam, the nickname Adam Bombadil. I love when I do this to people. *must continue spreading LotR insanity.....* *runs off to plot* Abedithon le!

How about whenever you hear the song "American Pie" you start singing along, but only with the words to "Middle-Earth Sky"
So bye, bye, to that good Shire sky. Got a journey now before me And I must say good-bye To hobbit folk drinking whiskey and rye. But this won’t be the day that I die. This won’t be the day that I die. the whole song is here

You know you're getting your family/friends obsessed when.....
Your mother tells you "I love you. And I would never trade you to the orcs." Your sister cusses a nameless orc out for hurting Aragorn. Your father tries to show how much more he knows about LOTR than you. When you ask your friends for advice, and their first suggestion pertains to middle-earth. Your sister is rarely at home, but she knows a good amount of hobbit songs. ::blushes:: All of those r me!!!!

One I forgot;
Your sister says, (when i tried to sleep on the tiny loveseat in the den), "you're taller than an elf, and that wouldn't fit a hobbit!!"

Goodness! I keep coming up with more!
When you see a LOTR movie with ANYONE in your family, it's a matter of which one of you points out something that either wasn't in the book, or something they left out. (so many times, my sister beat me to the punch. ) btw; i keep saying "my sister", because i have 3 sisters. the oldest one likes lotr. next one really likes them, next one LOVES them, and i am obsessed! see a trend? i shudder to think how obsessed a younger sibling would be, if i had one.

When your best friend who is a sci-fi/Star Wars fan calls you elf-maid or Tinuviel.
When you answer to both of those better than to your real name. Your little brother calls your name a few times (at least, I think he did) then says Tinuviel to get your attention and it works. When you've trained your three-year-old sister to answer to Elfie. When you can think of things to post on this thread. |

I was listening to a group of guys talking about Orlando Bloom yesterday, and they said one of his lines wrong.
~ "there is a fell wind on the air" When it was supposed to be ~ "there is a fell voice on the air." I just about attacked him right there. Instead I just did some rather loud rewording from the other side of the room. Been ranting about Ignorant mortals for a couple of days.

I was reading in a magazine yesterday about the interests of the people today, and it was mainly about the interest in fantasy stories, like lotr and Harry Potter.
It was kinda interesting, but then it was talking about the similarities between Harry Potter and Frodo... They called Frodo: "de oersaaie hobbit"( in dutch) translation: the dead-boring hobbit I'm still recovering... So, you know when you're obsessed with lotr, when you are making a fuzz about something like that, I guess... You kill spiders, and run at them madly, waving flashlights and screaming, "A Elbereth Gilthoniel! Aiya Earendil Elenion Ancalima!" and get very strange looks.
You try your hand at designing bags, and tear off the brown leather on a perfectly good black leather briefcase with brown leather trimming, all the metal decals, and put tons of red acrylic paint and gold sequins everywhere, and call it your Harad bag. You are wondering whether you should come out with a line of clothing that just has Elf and Ranger clothes.
