I'll go you one better. I give them a whole lecture on the difference between "Elves" and "elfs." You see, Elves are noble, wise, fair, tall, and they do not make toys or cookies. They do not dress like clowns, and they are immortal. Elves often have a sort of magic (though not precisely magic persay in Tolkien), they do not act like fools, and they are REAL!!! Elfs, on the other hand, are creatures with no fashion sense whatsoever, they often do make toys or cookies, i.e. Santa's elfs or the Keebler elfs, and, frankly, they do not exist. They are but figments of some poor deranged soul's imagination.

People you dont know very well come and ask you questions about how stuff works in LotR (such as Gandalf dying). Also, you inspire 3 people to learn dwarf runes, and are getting more. And random people come up to you and ask if you can write in runes, and when you reply yes they go off mumbling about freaks. [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]

Sorry since this is off-topic, but I was watching this humane society cop show on Animal Planet (which is like my fave channel [img]smilies/tongue.gif[/img] ) and they took in a Rottweiler that hadn't had a docked (shortened) tail, and the previous owner had tried to dock it him/herself improperly by putting a tight elastic around its tail [img]smilies/frown.gif[/img] Fortunately the dog didn't need its tail amputated.

Yeah, that was very off-topic. Oh well. To make up for it, here's some obsessive stuff I do.
I have both soundtracks and on the FOTR one I know what music goes with every part (like "oh, this music goes with the part when they go through the Argonath), etc.
I have both soundtracks memorized.
If my dad calls me I say "What orders from Mordor, my lord, what does the Eye commmand?"
I constantly say "Fool of a Took" when my brother does something stupid.
I bought the Merry and Pippin action figures (with sword winging action! [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img] ) What can I say, they were so cute in plastic....

FYI: it's easier to get pointy ears by using cosmetic glue; like the kind used for fake fingernails and eyelashes. It looks fairly good and is relatively painless, at least compared to rubber bands.

I am a firm believer that we should take all of our guns and weapons of mass destruction out onto an island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean and blow them all up. I know this is a bit off topic guys but let me give you some advice on how to deal with those people who can't disdinguish between "elven" and "elfin." Do what I do. Whenever people say that elves are short ...I say that during the middle ages , when Christianity took over...the christians didnt want anything to come jeopardize the authority of God. THerefore they had people start believing that elves were short and less powerful. Because ,previously Norse and Celtic people believed they were tall and beautiful. I cant stress this enough you people who don't know the difference( not any barrowdowners of course). And believe me ....whta I sya is true...it's in books.
