Childlike Empress: I don't recall where I read, but I remember reading it and naming it as an answer in other tolkien trivia's.
If I remember or read it again, I'll not wait to tell you! greetings, lathspell

alright. Here's the next:
Where stood the three immemorial Elf-towers that were known by the Hobbits, and some of them said that they could see them sometimes?

The Elf-towers stood upon the Tower Hills to the West of the Shire. From one of them you could see the Great Sea, and in one of the towers, the Palantir of Elendil was set which looked back over Sea to Tol Eressea.

What is the name, in Quenya, of the tower which is the crowning jewel of Tirion upon Tuna (I'm too lazy to use accents), the great city of the Noldor in Eldamar?

I dont know - but I have to come with some kind of guesswork - Could Glingol and Bansil be former names for Glingal and Belthil the images of the two Trees in Valinor, that Turgon wrought in Gondolin ( dont have any books at hand so I cant confirm) But my guess would then be: The Tower of Turgon in Gondolin.

Correct, Telchar! The Tower of the King, it is called.
I believe in the Silmarillion, these were images that Turgon wrought; in BoLT II they were actual saplings that were planted from the two original trees. Your turn! [ October 18, 2002: Message edited by: piosenniel ]

This has me stumped - but perhaps:
Misty Mountains - Hithaeglir I had also thought of the waters of the Misty Mountains (Loudwater River/Bruinen) that guarded the entrance to Rivendell/Imladris and rose like towers of mist. There is also mention of towers in the mist in the poem concerning Kortirion (BoLT I)

The Misty Mountains is correct - I said it was easy They are refered to as the Towers of Mist in SILM please proceed
