And Gandlaf replied with the quote. mailto:barrow-wight@kitgraphics.comThe Barrow-Wight http://www.barrowdowns.comThe Barrow-Downs

Who said: "But still we will not sit idle and let Him do all as He would [...] These cursed Southrons come now marching up the ancient roads to swell the hosts of the Dark Tower. [...] We come to teach them another lesson [...] The road may pass, but they shall not!" Then followed Ciryandil (1015-1149) and Ciryaher (who took the name Hyarmendacil (South-victor)) and reigned from (1149-1226). At this point Gondor reached the zenith of its power and authority. Unfortunately, Hyarmendacil was succeeded by Atanatar Alcarin, who began the line of the lazy kings.
Edited by Taimar at: 6/16/00 6:22:51 pm |

Gimli`s great-grandfather (Farin) and Thorin`s grandfather (Thror) were first cousins, so by my reckoning Gimli and Thorin were sixth cousins. Their common ancestor was Nain II, who was Thorin`s great-great grandfather and Gimli`s great-great-great grandfather. If any expert genealogists disagree let me know. Anyway, I guess you are closest Sharku, so I`ll pass the next question to you.
|
