The Lord of the Rings: Aragorn's Quest
For the past nine years, there has existed a video game named Aragorn's Quest. Apparently it's kind of rubbish: it's a dumbed-down retelling of the Aragorn bits of the LotR movies, done in a kind of odd visual style, with disappointing combat and a disjointed story.
But who cares about that? There is one thing that makes this, and I'm 100% serious here, the greatest Middle-earth game to ever exist. Are you ready? You don't, technically, play as Aragorn and Gandalf in the game. Instead, you play as Frodo and Elanor Gamgee acting out those adventures in the Shire. !!!!! How flippin' adorable is that?!! Okay, yes, technically the bulk of the game takes place in a 'fairytale-like setting' where you play as the Aragorn and Gandalf models, rather than as two adorable Hobbit children in homemade costumes. This is a major design flaw. And yes, the pasted-photo look of the movie characters' faces is really, uh, weird. But still: it's a game about Sam telling his kids bedtime stories which they then dress up as! It's literally the best. "I want to hear more about Sam, dad. Why didn't they put in more of his talk, dad? That's what I like, it makes me laugh. And Frodo wouldn't have got far without Sam, would he, dad?" -Frodo Gamgee sucking up to his dad, probably ^_^ hS |

That's a pretty cute idea.
If I'd known of it, I might have gotten it for my daughter when she was younger.
