Please welcome the latest member of the moderating team
I am delighted to announce that mormegil has accepted an invitation to join the Barrow-Downs moderating team.
He will be responsible for moderating the Quiz, Quotes and Mirth forums. While I will remain a moderator of those forums, I am likely (in consequence of RL committments) to be spending less time on the Downs in the future. Accordingly, mormegil will take the lead in moderating them, with support from me. So, congratulations mormegil on your well-deserved appointment and welcome to the team!

Congratulations on becoming a mod, morm! You've certainly earned it. Well done.
I must say, of all the things that could have happened, I wasn't expecting this, but it's a good thing, nonetheless.

morm in a position of power?
(Anguirel beholds the stake, rack and other torture instruments at the ready.) Ummm...Sam's quite nice really, isn't he? And I recant my Feanorianism! I do! I do! Honest!

Congratulations on the distinction, Morm. And good luck with the task! No, that is not evil laughter you hear in the background and no one is plotting ways to make it a difficult one. Really.

Hmm. Could this have anything to do with morm's determined defense of the Minor Works?
A good choice! Welcome and good luck. I sure hope the spammers don't take this opportunity to haze the new mod or anything.

Morm,
Best wishes and good luck! I'll look forward to working with you in chasing the commercial spammers out of Mirth. SpM Glad you'll still be hanging in there as a co-mod.

Hey congrats morm!
I would say no using your new powers to help with our little werewolf vendetta, but I know you wouldn't anyway.

Well done mormy! You definitely deserve the job, and I hope you get used to it and enjoy it quickly.
I will, however, miss the ever-humorous input of SpM. A wonder job well done over the years I've been here, Saucey. |

You do realize, Master Moderator Mormegil, that this means that you have to bring back the monkey scholar avatar? A gun-wielding monkey simply inspires the wrong image amongst us lowly users- making us fear for a dictatorial, force-wielding Moderator, rather than a benevolent father figure (as personified in the other monkey avatar).
Yes, that is correct... I really like scholar monkey better. Oh, and congratulations and all that...

Congratulation morm! Though I agree with Formendacil. The gunster-gibbons* gotta go. * I know it isn't a gibbon. I'm just a sucker for alliteration.

Congratulations, and welcome to the moderating team, Morm! Though we'll be sorry to see less of Saucy, who has been a wonderful mod, it's good to know that you'll be sharing the responsibility of keeping the forum tidy on a day-to-day basis.

I say keep the violent monkey. The team currently has only one scary avatar (Mister Underhill) and I suggest that more fear will be useful in keeping discipline around here.

Hmmm, maybe I should consider using an Ogre-Fiona avatar if you think more discipline is needed...

Congrats and Congmice.
Hmm... I suppose I'd better not publish the next Downer with the headline "Mormegil in beetroot scandal" then.
Well-done Mr. Morm. Here's hoping you do a good job!

I'm not too sure whether I will feel happy (morm's a mod!) or sad (less of Sauce?) about this bit of news. Perhaps both?
Congratulations, morm, and we shall miss you, Sauce. |

Don't leave us forever Saucie!! Thank you for your hard work. And my heartfelt congratualtions to mormegil, I agree with the rest in feeling he is a just choice. Just don't forget about us little people! Maybe with your new powers you are able to change the m to capital since that has(d?) been irksome to you, just a thought.
