A new game comes to town, sort of...
Writers of the Mark,
I remain very limited in time online, so the new thread has not materialised yet. My apologies. There is, however, a mithril-lining here. Helen and littlemanpoet are developing a game for Gondor from their posts in the Snowed Inn here and the Star in Gondor, Friends of Nimrodel: Tapestries of Dreams. Please see Helen's most recent post in The White Horse Inn. She will be inviting writers in Rohan to apply for the game. Yes, Writers of the Mark, you can join games in Gondor with the approval of the Game Manager there. So, feel free to have your character interact with Helen's blacksmith, who will be seeking out Aylwen in this mysterious absence of Bethberry. Oh what tangled webs we weave. Bethberry

A brief synopsis...
For those who missed the Snowed Inn, here is a brief synopsis:
Mellonin is a servant-girl in Minas Tirith. Mellondu, a young blacksmith-in-training, is Mellonin's younger brother. Both grew up in Gondor and are servants in Minas Tirith. Mellondu has disappeared, and Mellonin is looking for him, but doesn't know where to start. Meanwhile a young blacksmith has arrived in Rohan with no clear idea who he is. He calls himself "Mellon". Several snowball fights later he is feverishly, deliriously sick. He awakens thoroughly convinced he is Amroth, Nimrodel's long lost love. It seems like a simple case of delirium and delusion-- but then, why does the young blacksmith suddenly demonstrate elvish customs, elvish skills, and elvish loyalties? Feel free to talk to him and see what you can find out.

....or, you can post questions here. I get the impression that folk find Gondor awfully intimidating? Don't be shy.
So far I've had three good (young!) writers agree to join the game. |

I have to admit that I still find Gondor a little intimidating myself.
I do, however, have some questions. First question: what would I need to do to qualify for this game? I participated in the Snowed Inn for a while, but gradually got busy and had to drop it. I remember Mellonin, though, and my Eruvalde interacted briefly with him. Second question: what does the time frame look for this game? That is, when will it start? This sounds like a fairly time-intensive project, much like "The Shadow of the Star", and I want to make sure that my schedule's fairly clear so I don't have a repeat of my little breakdown and disappearance. By the way, hi again, Helen! Regards, ~Orual

Orual, I'm delighted that you're interested; and don't worry, I'm familiar enough with your writing to happily "qualify" you! I enjoyed your writing quite a bit in "Star Shadow." I'll go read your bio now.
