Elves at Helm's Deep?
In the movie, there were elves that came to aid the Rohirrim at Helm's Deep. I don't remember that being so. I seem to remember Eomer being there. Any other differences between the movie Helm's Deep and the books? Besides Erkenbrand, and what about the Huorns? What happened to them?

Well, from what I've heard, the Hourons are in TTT EV. I can't wait to see them. About Eomer, wasn't he there in the movie? I think he was, but it's late here, so I dunno.
Nehani
PS
Welcome to the downs Maeglanthirion! I hope you enjoy being dead!

He was there in the movie, but in the book, he was there earlier, wasn't he? In the movie, Theoden told Aragorn something like "Let this be the hour where we draw swords together." or vice-versa. I thought it was Eomer and Aragorn that said that together, er, or something.
PS. I'm new, so what's with the "dead" thing

Welcome, Maeglanthirion. We're all dead here.
Definately no elves at Helm's Deep in the book and Eomer fought side-by-side with Aragorn throughout the battle. The drawing swords together line was in reference to them. In the film, Eomer was basically put into Erkenbrand's role as leader of the calvary.
I'm very much looking forward to the Huorn's as well, Nehani.
H.C.

Except for the sons of Elrond(and they were 3/4 elves), and Legolas, no Elves came to aid Men in battle in the War of the Ring.

quote:
Except for the sons of Elrond(and they were 3/4 elves), and Legolas, no Elves came to aid Men in battle in the War of the Ring.

True if we don't count the fights that galadhrim and Mirkwood elves fought on their own at the same time when men fought in south. In some part of Lotr(in tTT when dúnedain have come?) Aragorn says something like they(elves and dwarves) wouldn't have come because the war is already in their lands(that cartainly wasn't a quote...)
