Tolkien Creatures of Forochel

I am kinda curious about the Lossoth(i think) the ice people in the Silmarillion. Everywhere I look I can't find a thing about them, can any one help?

The Eye

You've probably already read it, but just in case: Appendix A in ROTK has a pretty good account of Arvedui's doings with the snowmen. Apart from that I guess the only other sources would be non-Tolkien, like David Day's Tolkien Bestiary or maybe encyclopaedias on the net like the one here at the Barrow Downs.

...uh, and I think it was the harpers who sang about Gil-Galad. Not sure what the harmers did to him!
