Vala=Couch potatoe?
I mean, in the first ages they were busy with batteling and finally overthrow Morgoth, but what are they doing in the decades and centuries of the Third Age?
Are they just sitting in Valinor and watching the doings in Middle-Earth like a football-game? Of course, they sent Gandalf back To ME (that's just my opinion), but they didn't have that much to, did they?

They didn't want to get involved directly because Sauron was MAN'S problem-the last'supernatural' incarnation of Evil.

Maybe thousands of years of Men is a short time for the Valar. So maybe watching the 3rd age unfold was rather like watching a football game, or maybe a football season.
