When you sit in your living room with nothing to do waiting for your older sister to get off the computer so that you can get to the Downs.

When you see the word 'tinny' and immediately think of the name given you on chat.

When you have decided that you are going to be like one of the Maikas (at least, I think it was one of the ones whose name starts with Maika) and Cuthalion and marry a Downer. (Haven't decided who yet [img]smilies/evil.gif[/img]...)

Symptoms: talking excessively about the Downs when not on the computer, quoting random posts, Thinking of posts every 5 minutes, checking back at the Downs every 5 minutes... ect. *Not that I did any of that... [img]smilies/rolleyes.gif[/img] *

-When you tell yourself you won't go on the computer...then you make yourself a sandwich, pour a glass of lemonade, say "Screw it" and go on the computer anyway...

-When you write ideas for posts on your arms because you had no paper at the time...

When you (shh, don't tell) get onto the chat just so that you can talk to BDers without going crazy from BD withdrawal. This was during the forum problems, btw.

When you're at an amusement park and all you can think of is what your RPG characters would think of the rides.

You can name more Downers than you can name people at your school.

So what if it's summer? I can name more Downers than school people during the school year too.

When you add somebody to MSN Instant Massenger. It's the wrong person. You recomend the Downs to them and leave.

And printing out copies of the already mentioned Barrow-Quotes file, giving them to your friends who like Tolkien and saying "See? This is a great place, join!"

You've just started at a new school where you don't know anyone, and wish you'd had some friends there with you, half of the people you think of are Barrow-Downers.

You get more upset if you say something stupid here than in real life, and here you can just delete the post!

Printing out pics of Barrow-Downers and putting quotes from their posts under makes for good decorations by the way [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]
