Of French and...French things...
*rubs eyes* Oh, I got confused enough on Ambassador's Son when people started talking in french, and it comes back to haunt me here...
Have a nice time, Perky Ent, although I imagine it would be hard to stop you - so jealous right now! Secondly, and regarding the game: as you will (hopefully) have noticed, there is currently a debate going on at the head of the group regarding the route - whether we are to take the quite provocative and potentially perilous path through Mirkwood, or take the longer but ultimately safer bet to go around through the pass between the Grey Mountains and Mirkwood. As these are dwarves, I have no doubt you will all have an opinion on this (dwarves generally do...), so please do join in - whether you want to get gutted by vicious elves or show them a lesson, whether you want to be sure of reaching Moria or are not happy about letting the elves think they own the world...

Just to let you know, Laissez les bon temps rouler means Let the Good Times Roll! It's a New Orleans thing. It pays to live in the Big Easy! I'm making sure I catch whatever Elijah Wood throws!
Question: If there's a pm i want, do i have to save it on my computer, or can i keep it? MARDI GRAS MUMBO! _________________________________ Edit: Of course you can keep it - you just have to remember that means you have now only 9 available spaces for new PM's to you. ~*~ Pio

*****200th POST*****
Question, do what we say in the argument about which path to take actually change the path we take, are do we take our normal route?
EDIT: This is my 200th Post!!! Yay! I'm so excited. I feel like a real Barrow-Downer now!!

Hello Dwarves & Orcs,
I'm back, & have a lot of reading to do for this game! So far it looks like nobody picked a fistfight with Lîs/Lîn yet. Lots of music which is very cool... Good to be back, --mark12_30

The Return of Uzgash!
Greetings fellow Orcs and hated Dwarves!
Uzgash has returned from the depths of Moria (aka homework swamp) and is better than ever! It's so good to be evil. I've posted the promised Turgrog piece. Lugnush and Nazklash are welcome to do as they like with "The Chief", here are some helpful personality traits: 1. Turgrog's not that bright, so he's easily befuddled. I'm modeling him after my known enemys. You have to be pretty dumb to risk being my enemy, and Turgrog lives by the same principle. If he suspects anything, just confuse him, it'll work. 2.He's also a coward, if he doesn't have his trusted henchmen, he'll back down. Who knows how this wimp got to be captain? My next post will entail Uzgash's thoughts on Lugnush and Nazklash. Let me warn you, he doen't think much of them. Please don't take his thoughts personally, he is after all, an Orc. Also, cheers to The Perky Ent, your poetry inspired Uzgash. Yes, I realise that orcs probably aren't particularly musical, but who knows? When I was a kid, rhyming was a favorite form of insult, so I thought, why not? Orcs like to think that they're witty, what better way to demonstrate that than with some really bad poetry? Flames for all! ~Pyro~

Wow! I'm so touched! I inspyred you? Wow. My poems were basically spasms that I wrote on my post. I'm glad that someone is making use of them! Cool! It's like, 'by writing poetry, i have saved a life' cool! I don't think poetry beats prose, but still, it's cool what poetry can do!
NOW BEAT IT!!!!

I suppose msot people have been busy or have been sabatoged with loads of homework *cough me cough* But I have posted.
I will doing a forwarding post to bring our company to Mirkwood either on Saturday or Sunday, unless you would rather do it Aman since I did the last one. I think we've been debating about whether to go or not to go through Mirkwood long enough. Cheers! Imladris

*cough me too cough*
What is it with professors who think that their's is the only class you're taking? I completely understand the need for homework, but sometimes it gets a bit excessive. And as though you need more excuses, I still don't have a modem for my computer at home, so I'm stuck using the scool computers! ARRRRGGGG! Oh well, it's helping me get into the role of an orc like nothing I ever thought I was capable of. But, not all is lost. I have a plan: Rather than spacing out in class and thinking about how boring the third review of this subject is, I'm now writing my posts, as though I'm taking notes! I get to feed the teacher's ego, and write my posts, all in one fell swoop! What can I say, I'm a genius. To Carlas and Orofaniel: I sincerely apologise for Uzgash's opinion of Nazklash and Lugnush. I tried to make him be nice, but he won't listen to me. Blast it, this always happens, my characers run away with me. I son't know when my next post will be up, soon I hope, I'm half done with it. I've got a long car ride on Sunday which will give me plenty of time to contemplate absurdly complicated plot twists and make big plans. It's not a good idea to keep a person witha big imagination in a small auto for a long time! Wish me luck in my first Log Rolling Tournament! (What's a Logroller? You Ask) Flames for all! ~Pyro~

Pyro ~ That sounds cool, although try to at least listen to something the teacher's saying. in french, because it was so boring, i translated elvish in my spare time. But i still knew what she was talking about. So just...make sure you don't flunk

You guys make me feel dumb when you talk in French! I've been in German for a year and a half now and I still can barely make a complete sentence. And German is supposedly one of the easiest languages to learn from English. Bah.
Anyway. I have been very busy with various things, which would be boring to repeat, and that's why all of my posts have been tiny. I'll try to make a juicier one next time. Also: Please excuse my Narin's rudeness. I feel that he is the type of person who speaks his mind very loudly and with no tact button. I hope he doesn't offend any of you, but if he offends your characters I don't mind.

Saraphim,
I'm thinking Narin and Lîn could seriously get on each others' nerves. How about it? And once we spin it all up-- who wants to break up the fistfight?? I volunteer to get the worst black eye. Bloody nose would be good too. Then I can threaten vengeance or something. --mark12_30

brawling already
Yahoo! Lîn has taken a swing at Nalin. (No offense, Saraphim!) If anybody objects story-wise, I will happily edit. Let me know if it's inappropritate or frowned upon.
Otherwise I expect Balin would break up the fight, unless somebody else is so inspired?

Excellent! *conspiratorial rubbing of hands*
Before Balin breaks up the fight (I'm sure dwarves would love to see a good brawl, don't you think), we'll wait for Saraphim to post... This is so great.... Cheers! Imladris

Wow! I just thought of something! It's probably wrong, but...would Mali and Nali be related. As preposterous as it is, dwarves that are related normally have rhyming names!

I hate to be a little last-minute with this, but I will be away until Sunday. I'll be enjoying thirty hours without food at church for the Thirty Hour Famine! Think about me and the other starving teens while you eat your yummy Hobbit-meals!

I enjoyed the fist fight immensly. Kudos to you, mark12_30 , for bringing it up. Sorry it took me so long to reply, but my ancient dial-up is being uncooperative.
Anyway, I look forward to seeing all the Dwarves' opinions about the fight, especially Balin.

Thirty hours?!? That's a long time! That's like...staying over night! Wow! Cudos to you. I've never heard of it, but power to ya! By the way, Imladris, please feel free to wait on breaking up the fight, as it makes the posts all the more better! Break it up whenever you want, but it'd be nice to see multiple posts on the subject!

Ah yes, thank ye Perky Ent for bringin' that up. Melisil , even though that was a very nice post you wrote (I like Loni's obsession with sausage), I think you broke up the fight a wee bit too early. I debated awhile before posting this, but I would like you to edit it a little bit so that the fight is not broken up. Maybe you could have Loni try to break it up or something, but I'll leave that up to you.
Again, I'm sorry, but I think it'd be rather fun to have more interaction with it, maybe even having another post or two from the mark 12_30 and Saraphim if they feel so inclined. Cheers! Imladris

a longer fistfight
Imladris,
One way to edit the fistfight and make it longer might be for Saraphim and I to each write another round of boxing, and then put it here; and then Saraphim can paste it into her post; you could add a section too, from Balin's point of view; and then the firght can end the way it already has, with somebody pinning Narin's arms to his sides. It means that Saraphim's post gets quite long; but it works as a way to add some more zest to the fight. How about it, Narin? (Lîn's fists come up again.)

That sounds like an excellent idea, mark 12_30. What about it Saraphim? I will try and get something written from Balin's perspective, but I'm having a bit of trouble on a homework assignment so it might take a while.
Cheers, Imladris

The Fight
Imladris- I can modify the post, I only had Loni break up the fight so early as Saraphim had hinted in that direction at the end of his post. And sorry for the kind of late reply, also.

A Toast, and a Call To Arms
I hold my bottle of pop up to you guys in toast of the Dwarves! You guys are really amazing and amusing.
Really, I'm having a great time reading y'all's posts. Now I have to kill everybody! I'm starting to fell bad. Uzgash, however, doesn't feel bad, he's looking forward to it. Aman, Noting that an orc post where it is might be a bit odd, I tried to kind of smooth out the transition by playing off of the end of your last post. I hope such a liberty is acceptable. To my fellow orcs, My hand written copy of my intended post was accidentally left in the locker room at my Log Rolling Tournament. So all of Uzgaash's nasty remarks are stinking up a small metal locker in the Madison YMCA. Thus, my posted post is not the one I've been hyping for several days. Major major bummer. Oh well, I just wrote a different one. This post hasn't really advanced the storyline any, and I'm thinking we should be doing that soon. Also, I've made another reference to The Nameless Fear, the Balrog. I just tacked it in there, it's no problem to cut it out. Do we want to use the Balrog? I think it's a subject for debate, wether the Balrog had anything to do with the orc's triumph. (Or maby I missed something? I haven't read that part of the book since my first post.) So I really have two questions to be adressed: 1. Do we want to incorporate the Balrog? 2. Carlas suggested another meeting of revolters, what are we going to do there? So this is a call to arms for all orcs, requesting your best and worst ideas. The Dwarves have set a high bar of excelency, but we can out do them, no problem. Orcs rule. Let's kick their short statures down a hole, with the best RPG orcs have ever written! ~Pyro~

Sorry it took me so long to reply! But it would be great to prolong the fight. I didn't really want to stop it, but I wasn't sure how long it could go on. So I'm all for making it longer, but how do we do that? Should I just edit my post?
