Thank you, Firefoot. I wasn't sure either, so, oh well.
My qoute is: "I weren't droppin' no eaves, sir. Honest!" Have fun!

True. He said that in the movie, but different in the book.

Incorrect, Fingolfin.
In the movie, Samwise says: "I haven't been droppin' no eaves sir, honest!" In the books, Samwise says something different: "Eavesdropping, sir? I haven't been droppin' eaves, as they're aint any eaves at Bag End." So I go again? Yay! Alright, here is my quote: "There are few who can." Good luck!

Sorry for the delay, I had to find a good one:

False, Thorongil.
At the Paths of the Dead, Gimli says: "Here is a thing unheard of, an Elf will go underground and a Dwarf will not." So, sorry. But here is a new quote: "Look out for me, especially at very unlikely times." Have fun

"But why is the rum gone?" is a true quote if you want to know...
And the other one is false, I think.

Well, of course it's a real quote, just not a real one from LOTR...right?!
It was actually true - from the book. In the chapter, The Last Debate, Legolas sings it. Hold on while I find and/or think of another one.

I shall certainly straighten out your arguement as best as I can.
Sorry to disapoint you bilbo_baggins, but it is indeed true. Gandalf said in the Hobbit (and I quote): Quote:
So, your go Firefoot!

I believe it's false. Gandalf says something to that effect, but these are not the exact words.

It's true...I can'tremember, but it sounds like something one of the Three Hunters would have said to another of them.
PS: When a quote only differs by one word in a sentence, such as using "and" instsead of "where" in the above Paths of the Deadquote...isn't that just silly?

Olorin, that's how the game should be played. The quote makes the reader remember something like it, and maybe it's been changed, so the guess of the reader will be wrong, and the writer may post another qoute.

Um, I think it's true - didn't one of the hobbits say that outside of the Barrow?

Quicksilver is the winner! The quotes from Merry in a slightly...possesed(?)...state of mind, remembering the attack of the men of Carn-Dum on Arnor. The little we learn about Angmar and Arnor in the Tom chapters is one of their highlights imho...along with the mad singing man

I believe it is true, but I don't know who says it. I think (if I remember correctly) that one of the three hunters says it at Amon Hen regarding the orcs around Boromir's fallen body.
Keep it up bilbo_baggins!

Quote: "Look around Helm's Deep..." That's what I thought! But I couldn't find it before. Gandalf said it, before they left for Isengard.
