Well... If Valar and Maiar are then also count, as I assume, Then
1. Valar - because they helped to create the whole Eä. 2. Maiar - because they helped also 3. Elves - because they have a beautiful language and they have more grace than any other race.... Ok, I suck in giving reasons for something.. :S So please don't mind.

Elves, no contest.
Actually, I've never really found the Hobbits that interesting. Is there something wrong with me? |

Don't worry Neurion I agree, Elves are way cooler, look at all the history they have. *prays fervently to become an elf* Looks at herself and is still the same size as hobbit. SHUCKS!

i think hobbits are cooler because if you compare them to modern day they are like hippies the eat drink and have a good time. where as elves in my opinion are to serious and need to lighten up and learn how to live.
ps. hobbits are short so they make me feel tall |

Elves, sometimes I can be like a Elf, but there is nothing wrong with the Hobbits, they are funnny, but too curious for me. Elves have a longer history that just doesn't end, they help people and are the most wised creatures in Middle-Earth. They are just a great race, and I'd love to be like one of them. Hobbits, Hobbits don't care about the ouside world ( I don't mean Frodo, Sam, Bilbo, Pippin and Merry). They just sit there in their little holes and are getting fatter by the day cause they eat and drink too much

I still think the Elves are more interesting then the Hobbits, the Hobbits are funny, but not interesting

Hey, dudes! Almost all dwarves are lame. They suck. They're overly-obsessed with jewels. I think elves are awesome, although, how do they walk around all the time in all of their pretty flowy dresses? Men are cool. Well, duh, I am one! And I'm pretty sure everyone else is too. Right? RIGHT??? At least..... I hope so.

On one hand I think it is too hard to compare these two races, they are both so unique. It's like comparing Tolkien with Harry Potter. They're like two different entities.
...but then... Quote:
So I think the Hobbits are very interesting and unique, and seem to have more fun, but then the Elves are beautiful and elegant which are both very good qualities as well. So after all that I have come to the conclusion that I am indecisive, rather that one or the other is better. Yay for my contribution!

Elves are da' best, they're perfect. Hobbits are lazy, and I'm surprised that most of them haven't died from smoking and drinking too much. It can't be healthy.

i think that Elves are "cooler" in my Opinion, they have better skills in combat then hobbits and they are immortal, but since Frodo did destroy the ring...i think its kinda of a draw.

I'm a bit torn between Elves and Hobbits. I always associate a sort of melancholic nature with the Elves though (the burden of immortality and the whole lot). So maybe there is much happiness to be had in ignorance! Being an eternal city girl, I see something very attractive in the Hobbits' quaint and simple way of life.
But as long as we're playing hypotheticals, if I had my way I would definitely be a wizard!

As my name suggests, I should probably say the race of Men was the best. Actually, the man I really like is Aragorn. Other than that, Elves are the best. They can fight cool, have "powers" and stuff like that. Hobbits I never really found interesting. Sometimes they are just plain annoying.

Hobbits, but of of fair descent. I maen, Tooks
But apart kidding, what's the point of comparing at all? They don't seem to have much in the way of each other, elves and hobbits. I like them both in their ways . If the question is where would I like to live - with hobbits or with elves, I'd say here, there, peridically. But in Rivendell (tra-la-lally type of, I mean, can't bear too much austerity in one go , not other location. And in Shire, by Brandywine. I mean, I like boating, and I like mushrooms. Dunno bout beer, haven't tasted it yet, but I suppose I will like it too.

I like elves but they seem flawless. I think I like flawed creatures like dwarves ( they are greedy) and men (coz they lust and want power and stuff) and hobbits coz they are so darn cute!!!

I like hobbits. I love their simplicity and good-natured dispositions. Their love of land and food. But I would want to be like Bilbo, Frodo, Sam, Merry and Pippin because they are hobbits but they have been out in the world and have a knowledge and appreciation of other races and cultures.

Elves are cool, mysterious and powerful and they have great history so I really love stories about them. But hobbits know how to have great time so I usualy play hobbit in rpgs.
But I think you can't compare those two races because elves are more quiet and ancient, while hobbits are loud and more like children.
