I was ready to have to move my game up if I was still alive, anyway, so it's no problem. In fact I was starting to bank on it, but then nooooooo I was killed, but like I said I'm not bitter, not bitter at all.

Thanks all. That's great, means I'll only be voting about 4 hours before the deadline most days, and 2 hours before on weekends.

Sorry but I haven't been around lately. As far as times go, not that it matters much now, but I really don't care. I'll make anytime work.

Well, I had been planning on starting it Saturday 10 PM (which is Sunday 4 AM for you I think) by PMing out roles. My death and the first public activity would then take place 10 PM Sunday (4 AM Monday).
However, since Nogrod, Roa, and Sleepy may not be able to play then, I think I will change this, moving the Role PMing to 10 PM Sunday my time. Which means that, no, Mith you won't have to check in until Monday your time.

I know the game hasn't started yet, but I thought it'd be best to let everyone know now for reasons which I shall state in a minute. I'm not feeling my best right now. I think I may have come down with the flu so if I don't post for the first few days, it's because of that reason. I will try and make it, but don't be surprised if I don't. I'll also get Wilwa, Lote or Wayne to come on and give you an update on (if I fall ill) when my return should be. Thank you and sorry for any inconvienence.

Sorry to hear that Glirdy. I hope it's just the flu and not mumps.
If you are not able to be around at all for the first couple days, perhaps one of the people you mentioned can fill in for you? Well, obviously not Lote because she's in the game. Perhaps Wilwa? One other thing, I'm not sure if this matters, but would people prefer if I wasn't invisible? I have taken to being logged in as invisible all the time because frankly I'm lazy and I like never having to log in and out. But if you would like an indication of when I am on or offline I will switch my preferences and try to remember to log out when I leave.

Oh and just to add, if one more soul wants to join, you have until 10 PM tomorrow to do so. But there's only room for one more.

Well Diamond, after a nice rest I think I should be fine. But that is a good idea. As a good back up plan in case something happens. I'll let you know if something arises.

I have a busy week at work next week, so I will probably be posting less than is usual for me. Just wanted to make that clear, before the roles are handed out, in case anyone was inclined to read anything into it.

Not so fast, little girabbits. It's only 9:30 PM right now in Diamond-land.
However, I am going to start PMing out roles right now and will be posting up the rules and variations at 10. Then Night 1 will officially be begun.

I've PMed all the roles. If I missed anyone, PM me.
You should be Invisible now. I can still see at least one of you.

Oh yes, my reason for not being here so much of yesterday. I've been very ill, and so was at the doctors for much of the day. When not there I was on the nebuliser at home (and if you get what that means you know how bad I was). I was able to pop in and out but not really get involved until late evening when I was feeling much better.

Sorry to intrude on the game, but I have an updated modding list which I need to post before I forget ( ):

First of all. Samwise is before me & Lommy. But he has asked by PM to us change places something like two weeks ago. That was about to do with his schedules... Secondly: Lmp's game will draw in about 30 gamers. There is no reason to try to start a WWJ -game simultaneously... So we should think about this. We could take the next WWJ -game (me and Lommy), but anyhow, it would be fairly long in May by that. To us, the beginning of the June would be best (as Lommy is not in school anymore, and could hang around my place - see the net-access problems by her). Otherwise, we are forced to come up with a somewhat nasty timetable to our American friends... So Samwise, if you just could mod your game at the time your place in the "mod-row" gives you, that would be fine... We will be flexible with this one anyhow. So if your game just can't be in two weeks time, then we will take it.

To My Fellow Players
I have been unexpectedly called away for the weekend and will not return to a safe haven with an internet connection before Tuesday. That means that I will be absent from now on and not able to vote at all should I still be alive on Monday.
Because already one player was lost due to RL problems, I decided -with permission from our Moddess- that it would be best to have my brother sub for me. He shall henceforth be posting and participating under my name. He is familiar with the game due to my constant ravings and has been reading along with this game since the beginning. Since he is generally considered to be both smarter and nicer than me, I am sure there will be no problems. However, you will probably notice a difference in style since he is a bit less proficient in English. Treat him as if he were me, though. I am very, very sorry. Especially my apologies to Diamond. |

As I told Diamond...
...this game is cursed. I PM'd her around the deadline and informed her that I shall be dropping out of this game as well. I really hate to have to do this, seems you've lost enough people already but with two ducks down and a few certain innocents I'm sure you'll do fine. I'm truly sorry, it was shaping up to be an excellent game but due to certain implications I am forced to leave. Life has taken a turn for the worse, possibly the worst.
I apologize to all of you, but I'm choiceless in the matter. If I stay in the game I'd be nothing but dead-weight. I hate to have to do this but whats happened can't be changed. Good luck my friends! May you find that duck! -Sleepy Ranger, Jedi Master in Exile

I came up with an idea last week, that I have now talked with Lommy, and she was all for it. Now I would like to hear from you others.
There seems to be two problems in a WW-game. 1) The "illustrious players" are more likely to die very soon if they are ordos (wolf-kill) or wolves (lynch). 2) One can't change her/his way of playing, as it is deemed highly suspicious by others (lynch). So I was just thinking, whether we could have a game with totally unknown identities? It could be the game moderated by myself & Lommy in WWJ, soon. Everyone wishing to join the game would then have to log in as a newbie (with a new name and avvie). NB. This new character should only be used for the WW-game! One should not post anything on other threads with this new identity - as not to leave tracks around. So everyone could enlist to the game with this new identity - and then PM me their real identities, on their real log-ins - just to be sure... So just telling me, who they are going to be. We could then entwine this identity stuff (well, it's the "Island of philosophical Penguins" -game and the questions of identity are philosophical, if there are ones!) into the overall narration of the game - thereby revealing all the killed with their real identities one by one. And in the end, we would of course reveal the remaining characters as well (You have to be able to get the rep's into a right address, now don't you? ) But as I said, I would like to hear your thoughts on this. And especially the point of the overall mod of the Mirth - or the one handling identities / log-ins. So is it troublesome to erase or delete persons from the Downs in general? I could send a list of these "only for the game characters" to someone in charge of the members, to be deleted after the game. With this, we might have a totally new gaming experience (we could not trust or suspect someone by the name only, but would have to concentrate on the actual posts) and everyone would be free to try a different approach to the gaming - and we would have all the excitement in wondering, who is who... This could bite in both directions: it would be harder for the wolves to decide their pray - and it would be harder for the villagers to analyze the posts by their writer. Sounds challenging, and exciting to me. How about you?

Well, it's an interesting idea. I think it would be very easy to tell who is who just by posting style, though. Like handwriting. (And I'm not talking about playing style so much as English style, puncutation, etc.) The other thing, is that we're all in different timezones and often have to post about what RL situation has kept us away from the game. Of course, that might just be part of the new game, that you can't make RL excuses for behavior, but then I still think we'd be able to tell who is who....

I too think, that the players might have some gut-feelings about each other - and the time-zones might be revealing here. But anyhow, no-one could be sure - as you never can be in WW-game.
It could be just challenging and cracking your mind to try and figure it out... The first day probably would be even more hazardous & random as ever, but then on, it could provide us with a really new challenge?

I would be game to try it if the B-W didn't have any objections. But you may have to bear with me, as I am terrible at logging in and out, and may forget which account I'm in. >_<
