quote:
I actually cried when:
1) Aragorn was thought to be dead.

Good gracious, woman! What are you thinking? Still, I guess it's hard to control the emotions, especially when they're being tweaked so well by PJ and co. I couldn't help but not be saddened, because I had a *very odd* feeling that Aragorn would be back. Call it clairvoyance.
The bits that really did it for me where, as has been said, the Rohan woman putting her kids on the horse, Best Extra Oscar material. And Theoden!! Have you people no pity? Gollum schmollum, he's not even a real actor! The part that PJ added about "no parent should have to bury their child" was really moving, great acting there. It wasn't quite the same second time round, so maybe it was the sad bits that I wasn't expecting that got to me. BookSmeagol is much more pitiable than movieSmeagol. I did like the added scene where Frodo calls him by his real name in the Dead Marshes, though. Nice.

I just thought i had seen the scene with the children before, in Braveheart it was I think...It was just so pseudo-emotional!
And Theoden crying...I just laughed my ... off in the beginning, than it got annoying.
