Hadafang VS Gwemegil
Hmmmmm... here is something to ponder. When you order Arwen's sword from a catalog it is called Hadafang but in the movie trading card game the sword is called Gwemegil. Anyone know why this is?

This is something I have been pondering for quite a while. Nearly everywhere I visit that deals wit the swords from Lord of The Rings calls Arwen's sword "Hadhafang" but I have also seen the sword itself called "Gwemegil" I'd also like to hear other's opinion's on the subject, as it is something I have thought about many a time.

Sadly, no name is given in the books for Eowyn's sword, though we do know that Theoden's 'ancient blade' was called Herugrim.

Well Hadafang is translated as "Throng Cleaver" but what does Gwemegil mean? I know the second part is sword but what does the Gwe mean?

They are most likely made up.
The card was probably for gaming purposes the name Hadhafang was probably made to increase sales.
