Finished prelim
I've finished the first build (plastic) version of my Eol the dark elf for the games workshop lotr miniatures range. It's the first time i've really worked with a model of the 20mm scale (i usually build conversions for the sci-fi, or games workshops own fantasy range, both of which are 32mm)
Unfortunately i don't have complete acces to my camera at present, but as soon as i do i'll be uploading photo's here. The model represents Eol girded, wearing his black armour and sword (i took the liberty of adding a crested helm and shield) The ability to make the model stooped, unfortunately defeated me, although i plan on making an "eol at rest" model where i will attempt to make him stooped once again. |

Here's Eol
Admittedly this is just a test model, I hope to return to this project at a later date and make it better.
please tell me what you think and feel free to give criticism. This picture is from my deviantart page, unfortunately there's not a lot of LOTR work on there.

sallkid, I'm combining this thread with your previous one, announcing the model you've made, so that it's all together for easier finding. Eol looks good!

He looks cool, sallkid! My Eol would be more handsome as that's the idea that I have of him, but maybe that's just a girl thing?
He's made from one of the GW Elf models isn't he? I think davem did a set of Elrohir and Elladan that had similar looking robes?

yeah, i like the armour on the models though, even if it is lifted direct out of the film.
The new pukel-men models have me feeling a little distraught, the photographs i've seen of them are appalling, and i've already whined in another thread about the vampire

Do you use a magnifying glass to paint them?

I do indeed, i have a specialist magnifying glass with grips to hold the model while i paint. I don't use it that often though, as it can be quite cumbersome. i've done a few more recently, it's all going up on my deviantart (if anyone want's the adress PM me) Here's a preview. I'm very proud of the Merry and Pippin models from the fellowship box.

I'm thinking of doing a gothmog oe, but that would take quite a while (not least because the balrog figures cost £35 and i have no money to my name) does anyone have any suggestions for that?

I do have a warhammer army that consists mainly of night goblins, but the army set i'm working on at the moment is a Misty Mountains army, for which i plan to build a Bolg (at present i'm using the Durbutz model) to represent the goblin, vampire bat and warg forces present at the battle of five armies.

Also you can always check out the warhammer fantasy figures, they have many good models that would be great to convert into lotr.
