http://www.allposters.com is good... but there are tons of places, do a search and compare prices (ps - the New Line shop carries exclusive posters... if you want one of those).

I have the final poster from FOTR and all three posters from TTT. I bought all of them from the New Line store just because I wanted to make sure that they were the real thing.
Remember if you want the ones that they hang in the theater buy the ones that are 40 inches tall and about 20 something inches wide, those are the official ones. All the posters that are smaller than that are made by other companies and are mainly for fans of the films (though if you are planning to frame the poster, you may want to get the smaller one if you have budget concerns, because it costs a lot of money to frame a 40 by 20 inch poster with a really nice frame).
I have a ton of experience with them, the posters are really cool.

I have gotten mine from Ebay. Sometimes you can get them a bit cheaper. I personally am not too concerned whither I get an official one or not, just as long as the picture quality is good. I recommand that you don't get the one with the four hobbits and the Ringwraith because that picture is blurry.
See you later!
~M

Amen to that - I got mine from ebay, too. Once you do business with a specific seller, you might be able to set up arrangements with that person for private auctions. Sometimes they'll give ya a break or do a special favor for you.
There were some rare posters I found on new line's site, like .this one of Gandalf and Frodo in Moria. Very cool, very rare. It's my favorite poster thus far.

Yeah, I've seen that Frodo/Gandalf poster around a few times. It's pretty rare, but not the rarest.

hmmm so which is the rarest??
wow my wallet just yelped with pain 14$ for a poster (?!?!), i think you might be better off going to a local comic shop or something. That's where i got mine and they were 7$ each, but then again alot of these posters i have never even seen before. Final thought, make sure you shop around!!
[ May 15, 2003: Message edited by: Lady_Báin ]

I'm not 100% sure which is the rarest, but I know a poster of the 4 hobbits in Rivendeell is way up there.

I know someone who works in a poster shop. They have all the advertising sort of Lotr posters, and I get a discount. Pretty cool Oh, and I get free posters when they clear them out. They also sell great prints of characters and whatever.

Oh yeah, the Barrow-Treasures store would be a really good place to buy them because it goes through allposters.com
