i think éowyn should be replaced by someone else as well. nothing against miranda otto, i think she's a good actor, but still i don't think the rôle fits her. and another one for faramir as well...but the worst one was indeed elrond. he looks too old for an elf, even for a very old one, and his clothes....well i don't think they have the real colour. i can't tell who could replace all these characters but i think someone should have.

I would like to have seen Natalie Portman as Arwen, but Liv Tyler did a good job.
The rumors that Sean Connery was approached for the part of Gandalf?: Scary.

Actually Stuart Townsend was going to be Aragorn, but he didn't get along with the rest of the cast and crew well, so they kicked him out. That was when PJ called Viggo Mortensen to ask him if he wanted the role.

He also thought Aragorn should have a BIGGER role than he already had, so PJ gave him the boot. Viggo had 24 hours to decide on the next 3 years of his life. Fun.
We all have Henry Mortensen to thank for that! He's a huge fan of Tolkien, and when he found out that his father was going to play Aragorn, he went wild! That was how Viggo got persuaded to spend the next 3 years of his life filming LotR.

Yeah, I knew that. But since I already posted it elsewhere, I didn't want to basically do an idintical... . I'm just happy Henry is soooo smart.

That's true. Tolkien fans all over the world have Henry to thank for Viggo's astounding performance in the movies. If it weren't for him, then we wouldn't have the Aragorn that we love so much.
