I want to learn the songs of middel earth???
The lord of the Rings is filled with music. But I have tried search engines, web sites, everywhere. But I can't find any musical notation for the songs in the books.
Was there any music for these books?Does anyone know where to find it? I play classical music,Jazz,Blues,Hard rock.Everything but Polka. But now I want to learn the music of the books.I have totlal failed at this attempt.I can't find a single stich of music for it. Maybe you can hlep. Thanks "Tears of sorrow.Tears of love.Tears for things we know not of.The ancient knowledge guids me." |

You're in luck, The Road Goes Ever On, by Tolkien and Donald Swann is just what you're looking for. It contains music for Tolkien's songs written by Swann and approved by JRR Tolkien, along with a number of other interesting things. The new edition (now with a CD) has just become available in the UK for the first time in 25 years (thanks, no doubt, to the movies). I'm not sure about avaiability in the US, or other places, it may be more difficult to obtain there.

The Road Goes Ever On contains the sheet music to some of the songs that Tolkien wrote. I wasn't sure if it's still in print, I found a copy at a used bookstore, but it looks like Voronwe found it for you!
