Into the west (song)

Sorry, I have again a question, the song, into the west (which is a very beautiful song) was that written by tolkien? And what intention was behind that, is that refering in particular to galadriel, although it would also apply to gandalf, which never really wanted to leave aman..., maybe even to frodo, but no, aman was not his home.

Tolkien wrote several songs, in which bookes are they stated?
