Is the movie such a good idea? - The Barrow-Downs Discussion Forum

I realise that many people are looking forward to the movies, but is making a movie about a book of these proportions such a good idea? For example, it will be impossible to capture the true beuty of the elves. Also, it will be impossible to show the sheer terror of a Nazgul flying overhead. I think it was a good concept to make this movie, but is it really such a good idea. Also, if you watch any movie based on a book, it is NEVER as good as the book. I realise that a lot of you are going to yell at me for such controversial thoughts, but somebody has to say it.
