Tolkien covering dinosaurs
In the Silmarillion, in Valaquenta, it said that the Valar kept creating and watching new creatures arive and leave which made the world right for the children of Illuvatar to habitate. So I figure, he must be talking about dinosaurs, and other prehistoric beasts and things. So maybe Tolkien wrote this in that way so it didn't necessarily denounce the idea of evolution...just not in the children of Illuvatar.
