gaelic (irish) pronunciation confuses me so much that i don't even bother trying to spell the words now (i have never tried to seriously learn it...yet). my friend is half irish and has lots of irish cousins, some with easy names- sinead, meabh etc- and then she has ones with complicated names that i can never spell. the worst of these is caiombhe which is pronounced 'kweeva' then her friend is called pr. 'keeva' which, confusingly, is spelt the same way [img]smilies/rolleyes.gif[/img]
