I and several of the Barrow-Downs regulars have been experimentally building a MUSH.

Our MUSH is a text-based series of interconnected 'rooms'. You can travel from place to place, moving across Middle-Earth as you go. We were inspired by the Elendor MUSH, a truly wonderful place. And many things at the Downs MUSH will just be sad clones of what I saw there. So it should be obvious that our MUSH is not meant to be in any kind of coompetition with them.

It's purpose is to allow us Tolkien fanatics to build a world in Middle-Earth's image... from the ground up.... staying true to the book when we can. We use our knowldge of M-E to build our favorite places. And when we are done, we can roam around and chat or role-play in them. It would be pretty nice if there were many people, both old friends and strangers, roaming around and having fun on our MUSH.

But we have a question to ask that will help to define the MUSH. What time frame should we use? We are currently building in the later third age, but we need to get more specific. Perhaps we need to pick a new time altogether. Perhaps a good Second Age version of Middle-Earth would be exciting!

So.... Lets put our heads together. Everyone. Old friends and strangers. What Age Middle-Earth do you think would be fun to recreate and roam around in. And what specific time frame in that Age should we choose? ALL suggestions will be considered. And after discussing it here we'll choose a timeframe and get started seriously building.

Please tell what Age and time we should create our MUSH in.
