A Land to Call Their Own Discussion Thread
Alaklondewen invites you to play in her RPG:
A Land to Call Their Own Historical Background: In the year 1600 of the Third Age, the majority of the Hobbit population lived in the area in and around the town of Bree. A large Hobbit population had live there for approximately 300 years, and the area was beginning to become overpopulated. Two Fallohide brothers, Marcho and Blanco, led a group of settlers into the region west of the Baranduin River (later called the Brandywine River) and founded the land of the Shire. Fictional Background: A group of several hundred hobbits followed Marcho and Blanco. These settlers had a wide variety of motivations for leaving Bree. The Whitfoots, a wealthy Fallohide family, were enthusiastic about the possibility of future prosperity in the new land; however, the Chubbs, the poor, hardworking Harfoot family that worked for the Whitfoots, was reluctant to leave. The Chubbs felt they were pressured financially to follow their employers. Basic Storyline: The purpose of the story is to follow the difficult journey of these two hobbit families from Bree to Michel Delving where they will be a part of the colonization of the Shire. Many obstacles may be faced while the group is on the road. Wolves run wild in the area, and strange men inhabit small camps on either side of the Great East Road. Some of the hardships will cause the families to question their decision to come, while others just may bring them together. This means we will know the story is over when the hobbits successfully reach the White Downs. _______________________________________________ Last edited by Child of the 7th Age; 03-01-2004 at 06:31 PM. |
