How many instances in the books are the nazgul in full force together, all nine accounted for? Is the only one at the river outside Rivendell?

Hmmm... I believe that was the only time that the Nine were together and fully accounted for in the Trilogy. Unless, of course, you count that mad race at the very end toward Mt. Doom.

Finwe, at that moment there were only 8 Nazgûl remaining. The Witch King was already dead [img]smilies/wink.gif[/img]

This isn't mentioned in the LotR but in the UT (if I recall right). The nine rode together from Isengard (that it version a) or from Rohan after meeting Grima (version b) towards the Shire. At some point they divided and took separate paths.
I don't know about the Prancing Pony. Why there were only 5 at Amon-Sûl if they were all in the Pony? Or were the others guarding the ford?
