Sting Animal tamers

Dear friends of the downs,
My question is simple. in lord of the rings were there any animal tamers.

I guess so.

What exactly do you have in mind? Pets are common in the Shire and Bree; Rohan is ful of trained horses; I dunno about lion tmaers [img]smilies/wink.gif[/img] bt I guess in Harad they probably existed...

I suppose the oliphaunts in TTT were trained/tamed. And all the horses, too. This isn't really that useful, since I haven't read the books for a while, but at least it's some ideas. Perhaps someone with more knowledge can enlighten us?
