There's also a New Age type musician who is named David Arkenstone (been around quite a while) and of course, the electronic band Shadowfax! I think Middle Earth has been influencing band names for a long time now! A worthy tradition!
Perhaps some names from the Silmarillion: Thangorodrim, Ungoliant, Sons of Fëanor, Gothmog is just begging for it (probably taken already), Helcaraxë , Miriel Serinde, Glorfindel (nice name, whether its a band or not!). Come to think of it, his horse Asfaloth would make a great band name too! If Shadowfax, why not Asfaloth? Or Gildor Inglorion...back to the LOTR now! Well, can't think of much else for now... Cheers, Lyta

In my opinion "Ancalagon" would make a great band name. You could even have this cool evil dragon symbol for it.

Hmmmm...The Last Alliance has a ring to it.
How about Grey Company? Or has that been mentioned. TealDude, can you confirm whether you like the ideas?

Thanks a lot, everybody. After thinking it over, we (the band) have decided to use Black Glass as our band name. But keep on thinking of new one for people who might want to start a band of there own.
I AM SO HAPPY TO BE BACK AT THE BARROW DOWNS!!!!

Is anyone familiar to Ferris Bueler's Day Off(movie) and the part where the water tower says "save Ferris" ? You could name your band "Save Haldir" in triubte to our fallen heroe.

I thought of this before: TLOE (or TLE) means The Light of Elendil, or maybe Earendil, what ever you want.

My band will be called The Pyre.
When I get a band, that is... Or perhaps Into The Fire (also in dedication to one of my favourite songs). Or Broken. Or just Crazy Deranged Denethor Fans (even though I'll be the only fan...). If you have any ideas for my band name, please let me know. Or perhaps I will use Dead Stewards Society.

I was in a band (Metal of course!) some twenty years ago (Yikes!) called Mordor. Simple, effective, never understood and always misspelled in any promotional material...

But I have seen the movie "Ferris' Day off" and I like the idea, maybe change the name. "Save Theoden" or "Save Sauron" or "Save Morgoth" but that would fit for a Death Metal Band, but doesn't sound like death metal at all. An Austrian Black metal and tolkien-related band is called "Summoning".
